In need if major support...
Hi All!
I am turning to 3FC for support, am at a major crossroads in my life and i need to lose this weight. I am looking for some buddies to go on this journey with me... I have never done this blog/forum thing before, so be gentle! |
Hi there, and :wel3fc:
I'd recommend looking around...we have lots of forums where you could jump in and contribute. We have the 300+ club, for those with starting weights over that number, and the 100 Lb club, for those working on losing or who have lost 100 lb or more. We also have groups by age range (20-somethings, 30-somethings, etc) and by eating plan - there is truly something for everyone. Look around, then introduce yourself and dive on in. I can't wait to get to know you better! |

Stop in the November Daily Accountability thread! Lots of support here. :) |
Welcome!!! You will definitely find support here!
|
Hi and welcome! I don't know what I'd do without these people. I wish I had known about them in my prior attempts to lose weight; I probably would've been a lot more successful!!
|
Thanks ladies...i'm ready to get this weight off! i know the holiday time is the hardest time...but if i can make it through this...i know its going to happen.

Welcome! My only advice to you at this point is, "slow and steady wins the race."

Best support I can offer is actual facts. Here is the number one fact:
Fat loss is an equation of energy. Use more energy in a day than you ingest and you will lose fat. Energy is measured in calories. Beyond educating yourself the goal shouldn't be to lose weight. That is easy to do. Your goal should be to find a WOE (Way Of Eating) that you can live with for the rest of your life. That way you can lose the weight and keep it off, forever. |
Exactly what johnP said. Find a method you can realistically do for the rest of your life, don't think of it as a diet. Think of it as a new way of living. Embrace weight lifting, it's fun, and helps burn more calories. I calorie count and I use my fitness pal for calculating calories, and keeping track of what I eat.

if i were you i wouldnt even bother with other forums, they always end up discouraging me. this place offers support and encouragement with a very limited amount of judgment or rudeness (you can never completely get rid of those people) keep coming back, post often, read other people's stories. there are women on here who have lost hundreds of pounds and can help, and others who are struggling to lose right now and can relate. do you have a plan for losing weight yet? welcome! |

Welcome to the board! I know when I am consistent with checking in I'm MUCH better at making wiser food choices. Fortunately for me I love to work out and stuff, but food...argh.
For me preplanning, maybe not the exact meals but in general, what I can eat means food is nonnegotiable most of the time. I know what I'm eating and then it's done. I know that works for me and while my husband may not like the limited choices in the house, he can get other stuff or whatever (as I was told by MIL that it is mean to make everyone diet--we don't diet per se--we eat healthy and Coke with every meal is not). I want to echo again it is NOT linear. Some weeks you will stall, maybe gain, other times you'll be so flipping happy to see a huge loss. You CAN do it. I also want to say this is one of the most supportive forums I've ever been on, and the only times I've seen "dust ups" are when someone is upset and takes things in a way they were not intended (and usually comes back and says "I'm sorry I misunderstood/was stressed or whatever) OR purposeful trolls. Fortunately, the long timers here figure them out and don't feed them. Good luck and holidays are hard, but now think you can come up with some great healthy meals if you like to cook so it's a new adventure! |
