But it really was because I was sending mixed messages. I'd tell him not to make me high-cal food and not to bring junk food home... but if he brought it home or prepared it for himself and didn't offer me any, I would sulk, and when he did bring me food, I WOULD eat it and I would feel better and be nicer to him.

Wow, same exact thing with me, kaplods. And I thought I was the only one who tortured my husband like that. :)

Oh gosh, I do that to my husband too! I get kind of upset whenever he asks if I need to get some chocolate while we're shopping or if he wants to eat unhealthy dinners several days in a row, but then whenever the food's in front of me, I end up eating a lot and really enjoying it and telling him so. The poor guy must be so confused!

On the original topic: I basically deal with this by making extra efforts to eat on plan when I'm alone and concede more when we eat together. Thankfully, I'm going to school every day, so I have the morning and afternoon to eat as clean as I want and get in whatever exercise I want. Then, after I go home, I can not worry so much about dinner and just laying around on the couch the rest of the day. It actually works kind of well, since I'm extra motivated to stick to my eating and exercise the first half of the day but still get a little bit of a break to look forward to in the evenings and on weekends.
