How easy it would be to gain the weight back

I just bought a stockpile of tuna @ Costco. The cans I had before were 5 oz., 120 calories. The new ones are 7 oz, 150 calories. That's 30 extra calories a day. I like Chobani 100 calorie plain yogurt for breakfast. But sometimes, when the grocery store is out, I have to get one with fruit, for 140 calories. I was thinking of taking a multivitamin, and figure the gummies won't upset my stomach. They're 15 calories each, and I think you take 2. But 30 + 40 + 15 + 15 = 100 extra calories a day, or about a pound a month. That's exactly how I gained it all back last time. Wow!

Wow! That's really food for thought.

That's interesting. I have NEVER regained weight from these tiny "hidden" increments. When I regain, it's always because something snaps inside me and I stop controlling my portions. As long as I remain vigilant, which includes weighing myself every day, I can easily reverse any small regains that creep in.

Daily weighing from me too. I don't count calories at all so I'm sure my intake fluctuates wildly. I guess you could say I've learned intuitive eating and kicked my binging/overeating impulse down.

I generally expect during the week I shouldn't have morning weigh-ins over 126. Ideally I'll have 1-2 days under 125.0 - and on weekends if I see up to 126.8 I don't freak out. 127+ usually only happens with LOTS of overeating, which is then compensated for by delaying natural hunger/not eating as much.

Calorie creep is super easy! A couple of extra bites here and there, and as OP pointed out new portion sizes and before we know it BAM up a couple lbs. Daily weighing and watching my intake is the only way I know how to stay on top of it.
