31 lbs total 23 lbs to go!!

Anyone know how long it should take me to lose my last 23 lbs! My scale hasn't changed in a week and I'm getting VERY discourage =(

There's really no way to predict that! I'm sorry!

You will get there! I've had several weeks throughout the months where the scale hasn't moved despite my efforts. Keep it up, the scale will move again. And remember, just because the scale isn't reflecting a WEIGHT loss, doesn't mean you aren't losing fat!

Thanks I workout everyday for an hour plus on a 1200 calorie a day diet seems like it should be at least moving with ounces. Gets a little discouraging thinking is this all the weight I'm going to lose???

How long have you been working to lose the weight you lost?

ghlover 10-09-2012 11:11 AM

It really is unpredictable, it depends on so much, your metabolism, your diet etc. In all honesty, I know you will hate to hear this, I would give myself 25 weeks to lose 23 lbs. I try not to put a time on it because it really is a day to day battle. The reason I say 25 weeks is because the healthy way to lose weight is 1-2lb a week, so that plus a week or 2 for minor set back and you should be there. Good luck!

I got serious about losing weight in March when I was 220 pounds, my high weight of 236 was in late December (2011). So it's been about 7 months I've been actively losing weight, a little over 10 months total since my high weight.

If I were in your shoes (which I kind of am lol) I would eat a little bit more. If you aren't lifting weights, start! If you are doing mounds and mounds of cardio, cut back a bit. That all may seem a little counterproductive, but it really isn't!

If you are in a calorie deficit (unless you have some crazy medical condition), you absolutely are losing fat. There are a ton of factors that play into the weight on the scale moving. Are you taking measurements? Pictures? Those are what get me though during the times the scale isn't really cooperating.

I don't know how to eat more than I already do. I used to only eat 1 big meal a day and now I'm eating 3 with 2 snacks which to me is a lot and I'm stuffed off what I am eating I do 30 min of cardio and 30 of strength training 5 days a week.

Read the sticky on water weight. A week is meaningless.

Have patience.

Try to relax.

Sounds like you're good then. Just give it time. Like John said, a week is meaningless!

this is very true. ive been stuck at the same weight for 2-3 weeks before, or even gone up a pound or two. it usually evens out over time.
