Uh... what?
K so I weighed myself this morning, and anymore I typically just weigh whenever I get a chance, but I try to make my official day either Monday or Tuesday (whichever one is the lowest is the one I use). Well, today, I weighed myself and it came up as hovering between 203 and 202. Now, I know I weighed myself the other day and I was at 207; is it really possible to lose 4-5lbs in just a matter of 2-3 days? I know most people on here question their weight going up, but I just don't understand why my weight would come down this much in such a short amount of time. Should I record it because it's so low, or should I wait to see what my actual "weigh-in" weight is?
(PS: I almost said "weight" instead of "wait", lol) |
I'd suggest sticking to one day a week, the same day and time. You'll get a better read on your loss. We go up and down by pounds during the day, not to mention week. I can lose up to 3lbs in a matter of hours, but never count it. Last week I was up .2 by Monday WI and two hours later I was down a whole pound, still didn't count it. It's truer to yourself to stick with the same time and day. Sure we like the lower weigh in, I know I do, but it's more accurate when done on a steady schedule.
Good luck. |
Count it if you want. That's what you weighed. If you weigh again monday or tuesday you will be able to tell if it was random or not.
This is why I weigh every day though. For me I like to see how much my body fluctuates from day to do, and when I lose, I record it. This is what works for ME though. And I NEVER question a loss :D |
Yes, it's possible to lose 4-5lbs in 2-3 days. Consider how much a glass of water weighs. Consider how much food is going through your digestive system. Hydration level, bloating, etc. all make my weight fluctuate several lbs over the course of the day and week. It doesn't mean you've lost 4-5lbs of fat in 2-3 days, at least not without heroic efforts.

That's what we call a "woosh" they're fun, and don't happen too often. Enjoy the confidence boost that comes with it.

Yep a whoosh.
I weigh myself multiple times a day. If I see a loss, I record it! Then I leave my chart/ticker until I see another one. I know my weight fluctuates 4-5 lbs based on what I've ingested, how bloated I am, or how much water my muscles are retaining. I know it's not fat, so I'm comfy with it. |
Yes... Enjoy the whoosh... Just be prepared, if your normal weigh days are Monday/Tuesday - I think I read right in another post that you were at a party with some fabulous fudge yesterday? You might see a slight jump on your reg weigh-in day while your body gets rid of that... I had it happen on my birthday last week- I had a whoosh the morning after, but a little bit of a gain during the days that followed due to the partying, lol. It might not happen, but just keep in mind :-)

I weigh myself every day at the same time each day (for me it's in the morning after i've been to the washroom). Because it's on a routine, it's easier to see a weight loss. If I weighed myself in the evening after a day of food, i'd get a much different number! I'd reccomend to pick a time and stick with it vs. various times throughout the day, as your weight will fluctuate then.

sometimes I notice I may not lose weight or much weight for a week straight--like I stay the same, or lose nothing--a Plateau.....then the next week the pounds FLY off--5 pounds in 5-7 days....but I have had a plateau that lasted 9 days once--I was STUCK at 174....then FINALLY 5 pounds just DROPPED....

Oh, no matter what, I always weigh myself in the morning after I've been to the bathroom. If I don't have time to do this, though, I simply don't. That's what I meant by "whenever I get a chance". The weight I had yesterday morning was right after I'd woken up and gone to the bathroom, next-to stark naked. I didn't believe it, lol. I still don't.
