Does anyone else do this?

Am I the only one who tries to picture what I'm gonna look like when I lose "x" amount of weight? Like, I used to use that virtual model website but now it no longer works. For example, I picture that when I hit 180 I'm not gonna have a gross tummy or back fat. I'm not gonna have rolls or anything. Does anyone else do that? And how likely are you right?

ChickieChicks 06-06-2012 07:42 PM

I did that, too, but it looked nothing like my body shape at my high weight, or now at goal. :-/

Maybe it's a little different for me (and others similar), I have been at all weights between here and 143 pounds. So I have an idea of what I look like at all those weights. I've had 2 babies since, I am actually weight training this time around, plus I'm older (some positives and some negatives), so I know I won't look exactly the same, but I have a rough idea.

Right now I'm trying to re-lose back to where I was a year and a half ago, so I have some good photos to use as motivation. But after I get back to that weight, yup, it will be back to imagining and guessing what I'll look like next. Those virtual model sites don't really work for me because the current weight model looks so much better than I do. I mean, c'mon, where is her belly?

sontaikle 06-06-2012 09:47 PM

Yes, I pictured myself wearing a string bikini and running on the beach like I was in baywatch.

Ok, I'm joking.

I've always pictured myself thinner in my head and I always wondered what I would look like. I actually look almost nothing like I pictured!

I can do the things I've always wanted to do though. I always wanted to be strong and fit, and now I am. It's an amazing feeling.

I always thought the same thing about those virtual model web sites. Even the heavy ones look good... no belly, no rolls, no muffin tops. They have nice figures, just more of one.

I imagine all the time! I see other healthy women and wonder if I can ever "look like her". I have been at a variety of weights before (sadly, I hate to admit it), so I have a fairly good idea of what I'll look like. This is the first time I'll be getting there fit, though. My past dieting has not included much in the way of exercise. This time, I'm exercising more, and I'm fitter than ever before, so I wonder if I'll be more on the hot side of the hotness scale. It would be nice!

You (and the other girls who lift) are such an inspiration to me!

I've been thinner, I was 140-150 for a long time, so I know what I'll look like. Sort of. I'm 10 years older now... But I'm lifting heavy weights and can already see some awesome arm muscles busting out of the padding!

yeah i can remember doing this at my heaviest. i was 15 stone 10lbs and i can remember thinking that id look fab if i could get between 12 and 12 and a half stone....im currently 12 and a half stone and still have my belly, rolls and back fat, just not as much of it lol. im doing it now at 11 stone lol

Misa66 06-07-2012 10:55 AM

Yeah there's a Tumblr all about weight loss before&after pictures that people submit and I try to look at the girls my height around my weight and see how they look in their after pictures. I hope I can look nearly as good as them but with the progress I'm seeing I doubt it :/

chubbybunny29 06-07-2012 11:01 AM

I have always been heavy, so I haven't been at my goal weight since I was about 14, so I have no idea what I'm going to look like, but I have a nice picture in my head :) But the picture is in clothes, so I can't see the squishiness underneath or the loose skin. I think its more inspiring that way :)

When I was a kid maybe 12 or 13 I was 200 pounds. Well, then I became friends with someone down the street, she is still my best friend today and when we met then and all the way to graduating highschool we would ride bikes all day long during the summer.

That first summer we met I rode my bike from noon to 6 pm for dinner. The next year that school started I weighed 150. Literally that was just on summer break lol I was very happy at that weight honestly. I am only 5'5. I do not want to be skinny minnie only because then all you will see is my top half and plus I like my assets lol

The back fat part, girl I hate that..I am 168 and let me tell you I look at those everyday lol push ups really help though.

I've done this. Except I picture myself looking more like David Hasselhoff! :o

I just picture myself looking like I have in years past... only, with more gray hair & wrinkles. ;)

You jest, but I totally thought once I got to goal I was going to look like a swimsuit model. Imagine my surprise when I managed to get to 118 and I didn't! I just looked like a much thinner, plain old ME! What a let down.

dstalksalot 06-07-2012 11:50 AM

That is why I love the my body gallery web site. I can look at body in my current height and weight to get a picture of what I look like now and at what ever weight I want in my height and body type.

Arctic Mama 06-07-2012 12:35 PM

I look nothing like I pictured at this weight, even when I was here before. Time and life changes a body, after all. The good new is, in some ways I look better than I thought, but also not nearly so slim as I'd hoped, so my goal is going necessarily lower.
