How I'm planning to lose 100 lbs.

Hi I am new. I gone from mostly 185 to 160, 240, then 180, then 257, now 225 there is a saying "If you don't plan, you become apart of someone else's"

1. Eat at least 1 meal a day of salad
2. Keep carbs UNDER 50 grams/day (total not net)
3. Calories less than 1000-1500 a day.
4. Exercise 1 Hour 4 days a week
5. Meditate 5 mins every morning at night about goals
6. Park further everywhere I go so I can walk longer
7. Never, never, NEVER give up.

Thank you and let me know what you all think.

P.s, how do I add a signature to my posts?

Hi and welcome! :)

You will be able to add a signature once you've been here for a certain amount of time and posted so many times. Good luck with your journey! The only thing I want to add is that your calorie range seems MUCH too low.

I like numbers 4-7 but am concerned by the rest.

Is your calorie target a random number? You're about my weight and my calorie targets are 1250-1550/day with no exercise. If you haven't already, please do some research to find a good range for you. If you guess and you're too low, you won't lose weight as counter intuitive as that sounds.

Most websites that give you calorie ranges will also give you carb, protein, etc., recommendations. Unless you're carb sensitive, 50 grams may be too low for you. A salad is great, but be sure you're getting the fat and protein your body needs to fuel you so fill it with good stuff if you haven't spent all your calories/gotten all your nutrients elsewhere.

It might take you a little while to find what works best for YOU, but having a plan is #1! Welcome and good luck to you.

Signatures can be added after 25 posts.

While I wouldn't do some of the specifics of your plan and think they'll be too difficult to adhere to, long term, you know yourself better than anyone. If that is sustainable for you I wish you the very best in your consistency and weight loss.

And a big high five to never, ever giving up :)

I love the initiative you show by making such a complete plan. And you know, the best thing is, once you jump into it you can decide "hey, this aspect isn't working for me" and you can change it! Good luck! You can do it!

Walk anywhere that is within one mile. Increase the distance as you become more fit. :) When I lived with my parents a few years back, I didn't have a car which meant if I wanted a snack or soda, I would have to walk to the strip mall to get it.

I also park far away and walk those extra steps. Get your exercise wherever and however you can get it.

You can do it! It looks like you've motivated yourself - now you just have to get the plan started!!

I have to say, I agree with everyone else. I think you're being too strict with your diet. I used to approach weight loss the same way. I thought that I should eat practically nothing and work out like a superstar and lose weight. I did that before and naturally I lost weight, but it wasn't a lifestyle change, it was a short term diet, and the weight came back.

I would recommend trying to go slower and make a lifestyle change instead of doing a hardcore diet for 6 mos to a year. When you make it to goal, you will think "yay I can eat trashy foods again!" And that, my friend, is when the weight will sneak right back up on you. Experience speaking!

Other than that, good luck! Don't be so hard on yourself. If you approach dieting like a Drill Sargent, you're going to start avoiding it like the plague.
