I had a couple of different set points I noticed when I was gaining my weight over the years. I stayed around 160 easily for a long time, then 185 for a couple of years and lastly right in that same 200-210 range many of you are describing. Those seemed to be the very same points where I had "plateaus" when I was losing the weight. The best way I broke through them was to be patient and just let myself stabalize at those weights for a while. Refeed myself and let my metabolism kind of relax for a few weeks. Then I would shake it up again. Drop my calories (nothing hugely drastic) and maybe completely change what I did for workouts. It worked pretty well but can be frustrating because its a slow process.

My body loved 210lbs and it loves ~195lbs. I haven't been below 190 since high school, but I'm going to try not to get too frustrated with the set points below my current weight.

I'm going to focus on the fact that I seem to be losing inches right now, even though I'm not losing pounds.

Uggh, I know how you feel! My body loves the "5's"... 205, 195, 185, 175... I will get stuck at a "5" for weeks and weeks! We all just have to stay focused and remember we are in this for the long run! :)

Yup. My body loves the 200 - 212 range. Size 16 is a comfy size for me. One day I'll be back down to a 10!
I have a plan on pushing through this range (I was at 209-215 range for 6 months then I gained back 10 over the last couple of months) and I will be very diligent about staying on plan!! |

i've been stuck around 202 and 201 for at least a month now. I get excited to see 201 and the next day i'll be at 202 for about a week...then it teases me with 201 and right back. I've been 201 for a few days in a row so I'm hoping this is a sign that i'll start losing again! its so frustrating to keep seeing 200's when all i want is to see even just 199!
