I gained 45+ lbs in about a year during grad school due to the following:
1. lots of booze/beer...all weekend and sometimes into the week.
2. Lots of bbqs/bar food/restaurant food/pizza...and then taco bell after drinking.
3. failing to workout at all except...walking to the bar/above places.
I wasn't just sitting around, I was out drinking and eating constantly when I wasn't studying. Weight came off fairly quickly when I corrected those behaviors. But now, it's mostly due to having things around I can graze on: chips and those little individual candy bars are so bad. I can add an extra 300 cals onto my total just by snacking on those throughout the day. And I found out it seriously impedes my progress if I eat lunches out more than like once a week, even if I order healthy food.
