Crystal - yes you can do it!

Diana - Hope you love your haircut . I am temporary down here just one month more. A nice place to spend some time post separation and heal.

So far food is great today - might edit and add a bit more if I meet friends out later. But eating a low cal dinner now to avoid higher calories later :0)




Bkfast
Found some sort of lower calorie grain healthy cereal than granolia - can't really read the info in Spanish but it looks quite a bit lower in calories.
a little over 1/2 cup of the cereal flakes, low fat milk
a slice of papaya

Snack
The gardner was trimming a coconut tree and cut open a young coconut for me. I took a few sips of the fresh coconut milk, a few bites of the new jelly like nut. Tossed the rest - yum!!

Lunch
Open faced turkey ham/slice of cheese/tomato/whole wheat bread sandwich

Snack before gym for energy
2 slices Mx Papaya

Dinner
A couple of the little thin pork chops
about a cup of that left over sw black bean fat free chili - made too much and am getting tired of it :-)
a bunch of steamed swiss chard - plain

About 1/2 of mango
herbal tea plain

Went out for a 3km walk to enjoy the morning.
Then decided to jog rather than drive to the gym about 1.5km (1 mile)
It was pouring after the gym so took a nice cool brisk 1.5 km walk home in a tropical shower - fun :-).
Worked out legs with free weights for over an hour, including calves

Hello everyone.

DianaThanks for sharing and yes you answered all of my questions.

I hope everyone had a good day. I stayed on program. I went all the way to the pool and saw the dreaded sign "Pool closed due to fouling" yuck! That rarely happens at this pool but I remember one of the reasons I did not join the Y was because of frequent fouling. lol They have tons of kids programs. I mean it may not have been a child but I suspect so.

Whew...3 hrs later over half the house is spotless, sad thing is no laundry got done. Its washed and sitting in the basket but I just cannot bring myself to folding it. Had to get up at 4:30 this morning and work until 2, then cooked dinner and cleaned the house. I've go so much more energy since I started eating right and exercising, usually I would be dead tired after work!

Well off to bed. Gym and then dentist tomorrow!

I gave up my workout last night to be able to spend more than 5 mins with my DH. He is so frustrating! He could change that we don't see each other anymore, but hasn't. I have tried to mention in texts (when he replies), but he wasn't getting it - so I gave up some of my time in order to do it. He works nights, on those days I don't expect to see him more than 5 mins, totally normal. BUT... on his days off, he is sleeping until I leave for work... then he will do stuff during day, and sleep early at night. I even tried doing workout right after supper, was done by 7:30... he was still sleeping by then. So unless I give up sleep (and only get 4-5hrs/night as it is) then I won't see him if I workout. This is crap. Now I feel grumpy cause I didn't get my workout in too! If he doesn't care, why should I? Yes, I have invited him to workout with me, he won't. I have offered to do any workout HE likes to do... no interest. He likes to play tennis, but can't even get him to do that anymore (he is just wanting downtime from work) which I understand... but why not adjust the sleep schedule a bit? Anywho... rant over. I am back to my workouts tonight - he is working so all will be happy. My DS actually seemed a bit disappointed when I told him I was skipping out last night though - for a guy I had to guilt into doing this initially, he seems to be getting as reliant as I am on it for his mood I have corrupted him, LOL!!!

Sorry doing a lot of dropping in and running lately - really busy.

Just off for my doctor's appt. and scale is coming down with TTOM weight. Hoping tomorrow I'll be otu of the 170s again

My neck strain seems to be getting better, but I added a shoulder strain and now I'm resting that. Should be able to start running/walking this weekend though - I hope.

My weight is up to 238.7 I am very upset about it. When I finally got the courage to weigh, I was 234.4. It is also TTOM but that is nearly over so I am very discouraged.

I have exercised three times this week - last night I went to water aerobics and I really liked it. I walked on Mon/Tues.

I guess I am really upset because I was careful yesterday and ate smaller portions. Maybe next week I will see a significant drop. I know some people gain when they start exercising.

I had to buy some new clothes and was very upset about the size of them. I am very upset with myself and I feel so incredibly ugly right now. Ugh - talk about a bad mood!

I appreciate being able to check in here. Seeing other people's progress is really cheering me on, in spite of my bad attitude!

Back from the doctor - most of if is good news - I guess. Blood sugars and cholesterol are better and better with no risk factors at all - phew!

But blood pressure is up, 158/90 and I'm slightly anemic and my thyroid is still low (and probably causing the blood pressure issues as that was my #1 symptom before). However, my doctor thinks my thyroid is fine (4.2) as the lab says anything under 4.5 is OK. ALLLLL research says under 3.0 and specialists will say closer to 1.0, so I didn't bring it up with him. I'll just find an endocrinologist and move on.

Happy to see the blood sugars issue are no longer an issue. Fasting was 83 and A1C was 5.1. Cholesterol was 189 with a good breakdown. All of those things were BAD, BAD, BAD 16 months ago. So, of that I'm happy, but I'm not happy that I still don't have my thyroid issue resolved.

MRSS2010 Don't get discouraged! You've got 2 things going against your weight. 1. TOM 2. You started working out. TOM make you retain water like no other. When I went through my first cycle after starting to try to lose weight I felt like giving up because I wasn't losing Anything. But everyone assured me that the "woosh" would come. And it did. I lost 8 lbs in one week! As far as working out you've gaining some muscle and water weight also. Watch your sodium intake too. I was shocked as to how much I was taking in per day and when I started paying attention to it I slowly started to see the difference. Less bloat too! Keep up the Great work! Don't give up!

ItsMyTurn Sorry to hear about your DH acting like a typical man. Ugh, men. I hope things get better! Do you ever get a chance to go out on a Date Night?

Well I've spent too much time on here this morning! Went to the gym this morning and rushed my workout. My BF said he had to leave At 10 and I had to be back by then since he was watching DD for me. And guess what. He didn't leave until 10:45!!! I rushed my workout for nothing...oh well. I'm still feeling it so some workout is better than none! Hope everyone has a great day! Dentist today

Hi all! The scale would not move for most of my 3 wks in the diet....now I am starting week 4 and when I weighed myself three lbs were gone!!
I ca do this!! Prayers always help!! I started at 188 and now I am 177.. I always have about 1400 calories a day....I walk/job almost every day.... I am not as hungry as I used to be and saying no to good food is getting easier and easier.....(although sometimes I miss my bread & cheese).....I will get there... with God's strength I will get there!

Happy Thursday!

I feel a migraine working up and I have no meds with me. We'll see how long I last. Yesterday, my eating was going well until I gave in to the Gardetto's snack bag someone gave me. I've just been so hungry lately, without doing anything new. It's probably psychological.

Diana: How was dinner? Don't drown...

ItsMyTurn: Sorry you gave up time for DH, especially when it's not reciprocated. I know that can be frustrating. I know for me, taking time for myself seems selfish and I have resisted (hence, the extra 60 pounds I carry). It always makes me wonder why my DH won't give up his "stuff" for the family the way I do. I think it's a matter of "currency". Women (in general) value time and nuturing so that's what they give others...their time and nuturing. Men (in general) value "bringing home the bacon", car/house/lawn maintenance, so that's what they give others...lots of hard work, both in the office and around the house. I deal with (and resent) the same thing at my house. OK, off my soapbox now. You hang in there. I'm envious you now have at least one workout buddy right at home!

Pluckypear: I'm trying to remember what the kids call them...floating snickers or just foaters, but yes, it can be quite disrupting to a routine. I hope it was a kid. Anyone else is simply disturbing!!

MRSS2010: Please don't be discouraged. Remember that your loss isn't going to occur linearly. Some weeks it may even go up. You have to look at the long term trend and stick with the plan no matter what. You can do it!!!!

Berry: Glad you got (mostly) good news at the Dr. I think you're doing the right thing by going to an endo. Good luck!!

Good Evening All,

First: "fouling" gross. Couldn't not comment. Better the sign then witnessing the actual "foul".

So day two was way better than day one. No, there is no lake around here. Actually there's nothing around here, not even phone service! I believe this is the last time I allow this man to "plan" a vacation for the four of us. He left us with nothing whatsoever to do. His "plan" sit around all day, playing on the internet. Um, we do that at home with the option of getting out and at least walking! Luckily tomorrow is the cavern thing, then it's off to Delaware for a small reunion with his niece and her family.

Now any other time you give me the option of sitting on my laptop all day, I'd cheer with glee. But, these guys are loud when they are bored. And guess what, a 12 & 16 are bored sitting in a cabin. Doh. I couldn't take it. I got up and went for a walk. DH ran after me. It wasn't long because if I haven't mentioned this before, you need a four wheel drive vehicle to get up and down this mountain and my little legs aren't four wheel drive

Just when I get into writing, I'm forced to go in a hot tub or listen to a silly story about how a frat brother will soon be in senate. I don't care! LOL, can you tell I'm grumpy? I feel trapped with the group of people I do my best to hide from on a normal basis Oh and the worst thing ever, I forgot my razor

I hope you all are having a great day. I can't wait to see what my weight will be on Monday. So far the staples are nuts and jerky, my jaw is killing me

Hi everyone. I'm hoping to join in because I want to stay accountable with my exercise.

Yesterday, after a couple of weeks of slacking off (school deadlines), I ran 5 miles, walked 2.5 miles, and lifted weights for 35-45 minutes. Stayed at 2/3 my daily calorie count.

Today, I am far more sore than I expected to be and it's worsened throughout the day. However, I managed to walk 3.5 miles, at least. So far, I'm under calorie count.

Boy do I wish for a massage today.
