Just threw away my trigger.....

Most people have that trigger food hanging around that takes them over the edge. For me, it's CRACKERS. Of all things, crackers!!!! Right now, Oyster crackers have become my addiciton. However, they start a snacking train that is hard to stop. It doesn't help that the little crackers are so small that you can eat 2-3 servings without noticing it! So, I just emptied the rest of the bag hidden in my desk at work into the trash.

Some things call for desperate measures and I realize, I want healthy more than I want another handful of oyster crackers. :)

Good for you. Crackers and really any bread product are such a trigger for me. A box of ritz or wheat thins is like crack.

No matter how little the snack is, the willpower to say no and toss it is huge. Good job!

good for you!! We can't have crackers in the house either. Pitiful but true

I wish I could toss out my trigger...basmati rice....but one other person lives here too so I am stuck with it in the house. :(

Yep..crackers are like crack for me, too. Cheez-its, Goldfish, and Ritz are my favorite. But the kind doesn't really matter. If I don't specifically count them out; I can go overboard on wheat thins, saltines or special k fiber crackers, too.

I've had to throw away food too... Better go to waste than to my waist :)

I wish I could throw out my triggers in my house. The husband and kids would definitely object though.

Good for you!! It's funny how we can know what our triggers are, but still not get rid of them. I have several weaknesses, and my family knows that if these foods are deemed important enough to come in to the house, they'd better be important enough to be eaten or stored appropriately. Any foods left out will go in the trash, without warning. I don't want to deny the non-dieting family members their treats, but there has to be a boundary. There are lots of foods that they like that aren't triggers for me that they could choose from, so if they end up with my triggers, they have to be more careful with me.

Icecream is my weakness, and chocolate. I have been doing really good though, and not craving them like I did before. I bought some skinny cow, strawberry cheesecake and it is soooo good. Yummy! Glad it comes in a small container! lol

Congratulations.

They say their are salty snack people and sweet snack people. I'm the sweet tooth, so I would have no problem with avoiding crackers in the cupboard. But switch 'em out with M&M's and oh-oh!

Thanks for the comments everyone :) I agree ritz crackers, and goldfish are like CRACK. I have a picture of me at like 3 years old with a box of Cheese Nips....

I am graced with a salty and a sweet tooth but most of all I love bread and butter, gravy, and fried food. I had to get strict with myself and buy the non-dieters things that don't tempt me. The Easter candy is staring at me but thankfully I am not really a fan of chocolate. My biggest problem arises at restaurant. My go go meal at IHOP is the balsamic glazed chicken because it helps me to avoid making a decision that would probably be chicken fried steak lol

Way to go! I recently bought a box of Ritz crackers, thinking I could handle them in my house; they were gone within 24 hours. Now I know better thank to think I can control myself around them!

twinieten 04-11-2012 11:37 PM

You know what I love? Cheesy rice cakes! Those miniature Quaker ones. They taste just like Cheetos! Probably high in sodium, but heck, even if you really screw up and eat the whole bag, it's not as damaging as actual Cheetos. :p
