But that's probably because you have a smaller frame. People are built VERY differently.

Doctors have told me that my ideal weight is probably around 155-160. That puts me right at the top and a little over the healthy BMI.

My husband is much more finely built and he feels best (and looks right) at the lower end of the healthy BMI. He likes 165. So me at 5'6.5" at 160 and him at 6'1" at 165 with us both being fit and having a healthy weight.

Agreed. I'm just over a healthy BMI and wear a size 4 pants and small/x-small shirts so I'd say for me it's pretty accurate (at the upper end). Getting to the lower end would be WAY too small for me because of my larger frame.

Thanks for the help everyone, I really do appreciate it. :) I guess I'm going to stick with 130 as my "end game" weight, but I mostly just want to be the size I was back when I was fit, maybe even smaller. I don't really care how much I weigh as long as I'm happy with my size. I have a medium body frame and I carry weight pretty evenly. I've always had an hourglass figure, but I have a very short waist, so when I gain weight around my hips, it's very close to my waist and looks odd to me. My doctor said I should be 180 at the most, so that's my goal for now.

I think it's a good range to shoot for, but it's hardly perfect!

I'm right at the top of healthy for my height and I still feel like I have some more fat to cut, so for me it works. I'm thinking I might reevaluate my goal weight again (10 lbs up maybe?) I don't know if I can maintain 140's and still keep the muscle I'd like to retain.

My husband is on the cusp of "obese" according to the BMI chart. But he's in the Military and his biceps are bigger than my thighs. He's a solid hunk of muscle. For him, it doesn't work!!
