Default should i weigh myself today instead?

tomorrow, i'll be at the shop alone all day, open to close.

my daughter will be dropped off around 3:45pm and will be at the shop until closing.

the hospital is a 20min walk if i go alone but saari's only 5 and doesn't walk very fast. it'll be dark by the time we get there and she's afraid of walking in the dark (no street lights until we get to the main street).

the clinic will be closed from friday until tuesday.

should i skip this weeks' weigh-in altogether or should i go today instead?

Depends on how much the weigh-in matters to you I suppose. If it were me I'd weigh, but I weigh every day.

It depends on how you respond to weigh ins. Will you be depressed if you show a slight water retention or not as much loss as you want? Would not weighing this week make you slip up before your next check-in?

I do well with accountability, so weighing more frequently is beneficial to me and little bounces don't get to me at all. But when I weighed less frequently I got dispirited if the scale didn't cooperate, so skipping a weekly weigh in would have been more prudent for me at that point, even thoug I never skip now. It just depends where you are, mentally, with the process.

i did decide to weigh in today bec it's part of the program with the dr and i didn't want chance messing that up. so i hauled heinie to the clinic to find rhonda, the receptionist, holding the door open watching for me and everybody else was gone. i thanked her profusely, parked the dog, ran in, and jumped on the scale.

up half a pound!?

i mean, i knew i was weighing myself at a bad time (45min after eating dinner and really had to pee but the bathroom was locked for the night)but ... hunh?

rhonda came over to record it and was puzzled. she looked me up and down and said "you look like you've lost...wait - what's that in your pocket?"

"oh.... my keys..." and i pulled out the bundle (house keys, car keys, shop keys, my mother's old cottage)... "and my cell phone..."

"do you normally weigh yourself with your shoes on?"

"um... no. no, i don't."

so i'm down a pound - i know it's more but that'll show up next week.
