Dear pistachios...

I love you. Does anyone else? They fill me up soooo well. A whole personal pack is only about 130 cal. :D

baker23 03-25-2012 04:53 PM

They are delicious...But one of my trigger foods. I can eat 1/2 a regular bag of unshelled one's without even thinking about it..Maybe I need to buy those personal packs xD

WildThings 03-25-2012 05:45 PM

I cannot have pistachios in my apartment! You would think buying the ones with the shells would slow me down eating them but it doesn't. I best to just avoid them at all cost. I do obviously love them though :T

joyc21 03-25-2012 06:44 PM

I love them too. I can only buy the personal packs because I have no self control with the larger bags.

LandonsBaby 03-25-2012 07:27 PM

I love them but I'm thinking of putting them on my trigger list. I haven't decided yet.

LisaTcan 03-25-2012 08:06 PM

yeah, they're a major trigger food for me too!

MsBrightside 03-26-2012 01:52 AM

I've never ever had them. They sound good though!

Amy23 03-26-2012 06:32 AM

Omg, they are so delicious, but like someone else said, a trigger food. I could eat a 300 gram bag in one sitting. Best to steer clear of them altogether, I think...

Cannot have! Cashews, pistachios, peanuts, peanut butter all equal major calories because I don't stop until there's nothing left. :o

I have such an issue with PB that I posted by biggest lost so far, 2.8 lbs, by removing peanut butter from my diet while I get a handle on it.

You should try PB2, which is a powdered peanut butter with 80% less calories and fat! It actually tastes good and you can even bake with it. I found it online - not cheap but worth it to me!

XLMuffnTop 03-26-2012 09:16 AM

That would be fine for me probably. The issue is my family loves regular peanut butter and my son probably needs the calories. I've just had to make a conscious effort not to even START licking the spoon after I make his sandwich for lunch or have DH make it. I'm afraid even PB2 would start me down a munching path I couldn't recover from!

I am a PB2 addict! The thing that helps me control the consumption (because I could probably eat the whole container) is that I always cut up 2 stalks of celery into lots of sticks and then use those to slow me down and it ends up filling me up a lot. I use about 5 tablespoons of PB2Chocolate and the celery and this makes for a very satisfying and decadent snack. I honestly think I prefer it to regular peanut butter but I could be saying that because I haven't had regular in a long time. ;)

Pistachios...I love them but have to be super careful. Cashews are a huge trigger food for me and I can't be trusted to be alone with them. ;)

sontaikle 03-26-2012 09:32 AM

oh my god I love pistachios! I haven't had them in forever.

I love me some peanuts though. I started eating a handful every day and I just love it. I bought a big thing of peanuts since they were on sale and now I keep them at work in case I don't pack enough snacks :)

ELBS717 03-26-2012 10:52 AM

where do you get the personal packs? i've never seen pistachio's come in individual servings before.

Munchy 03-26-2012 11:20 AM

Wonderful makes them in 1.5oz packs and you can buy them from amazon.com.
