Its potato chips for me! I can't even bring them in the house or I will sit down and eat the whole bag. I do find, however, that if I just really have a chip craving that a single serving bag of light popcorn generally takes care of that craving.

Oh man....
Stuff like breadsticks, the really good, warm, garlicky ones. Or rolls. Or croissants. Or bagels. Mmmmmmmmm.
I also LOVE things like puppy chow (Crispix cereal mixed with melted chocolate and peanut butter then covered in powdered sugar).
Chocolate cake.
:dizzy:

Yep, controlling the carbs is key for me. ;)

Doritoes.... and lately, no-sugar-added moose tracks ice cream. Originally I planned to work the 1/2 cup serving size into my calorie allocation, but i found out i don't just keep it at a 1/2 cup and usually go for the whole cup instead... pretty much defeatiung the purpose of going for the lower cal/lower fat type!

Refined carbs, sugar, beans (love mushy stuff), nuts

Interesting that you bring this up. Today I decided to sit down and identify my big trigger foods and to stay away from them. I can't fight them and win, not even for a "small" treat.

Peanut butter (especially creamy)
Chocolate (any kind)
Caramel
Full fat dairy (I have no issues with low- or non-fat...except cheese)
Cheese with ANY fat in it (non-fat is the only kind I can consume reasonably)
Pastry-like foods (things that are a sugary carby combo, like cake, donuts, etc. - I cannot just have a little).
Sugary cereal (which kinda goes with pastry-like stuff)

Those are all things I've noticed either I can't eat just a little of, or they trigger me to overeat other stuff, too. Especially when any of them are combined.

Cheez-Its...oh God, the Cheez-Its of Doom...

Chips, I go nowhere near chips.

And cheeeeeeese!

Nuts. Cashews and pistachios especially. If I have an open bag/container of cashews in the pantry I cannot resist them. I can buy them and keep the closed package in the pantry forever without eating them, but if I open them I get into trouble.

Anything salty/sweet.

I have to say just about everything. When I binge, it's not pretty so I try to maintain control or I will eat everything in sight.

But some of my favorites, off the top of my head, are pizza and donuts. And since I live in southern Texas, I have developed quite a liking for breakfast tacos. There's a place around here that serves breakfast tacos and donuts, of all things. I love chorizo and egg tacos with cheese and carne guisada (like a stew) with cheese. The tortillas are homemade and oh so good!

LOL. Robin eggs. They are candy coated malted milk balls and so good. Lucky for me, they are only sold around Easter. I have only bought a small box so far and shared them so I couldn't do much damage. I am vowing to not buy more any until it's actually Easter this year. When it's Easter, I will allow myself Easter candy although they start selling them the day after Valentines Day. I am considering this a chance to practice self-control and eating reasonable amounts of food I like. :dizzy:

I am a total sweet-freak so I really have to watch it but I am slowly learning to have my cake and eat a portion of it too. :)

There is also salty/sweet nut mixture that I just don't do well with so I rarely, if ever, buy it. I tend to stick with the line of thinking many others have, it's easier to resist once at the store than many times over at home.

How could I forget Fruity Pebbles cereal? Oh, it is SO DELICIOUS. Publix had a buy one get one free special a few weeks ago during one of my low points. I bought two boxes and ate both within three days. Needless to say, no more FP. Basically, anything with sugar is a downfall with me. Pies, pastry, cookies, chocolate, you name it. I have to be extremely careful with what I allow myself in that department.

I might add that I've developed a serious crush on Panera scones after I had my first one two weeks ago. It's 400 calories per scone, so if I do indulge with one, it's all I can have until lunch. I did it last Sunday and managed to keep my 1600 calories for the day - somehow. It's like treading a minefield.

sun chips for me! They taste better when you eat a lot fast because the flavor adds up. And, before I know it, I'll have had 2-3 servings.

Rose426 03-13-2012 12:56 AM

Anything with sugar mainly! Cookies, cakes, brownies, pies, ANY candy, and that delicous chocolate caramel pretzel treat that I will literally eat the whole box. I love pizza also so it's hard to just have one slice! The #1 item that I can't go near are M&M's ...I can't have them in my hands or I'll eat the whole bag within seconds.
