Scale Recommendations?

  • Hey everyone!

So I'm trying to find a new scale to buy because I've realized that the scale I'm using now is pretty inaccurate. I weighed myself 3 times yesterday within the span of 10-15 minutes & got 3 different weights without having done anything.

I was wondering if anyone could recommend a scale that is reliable and not too expensive? I've seen reviews on the EatSmart scales on Amazon, but I'm still debating whether or not those are actually reliable.

I would appreciate any input! (:
  • I don't have any recommendations, sorry! But I am bumping this because I need to find a reliable scale, too.
  • I have a Health O Meter scale. Its digital, and it works good. I got it at Wal-Mart. Dont remember how much I paid for it though. I think around $20.
  • I bought a "Thinner" scale recently at Bed, Bath & Beyond. It seems to work accurately and measures very, very close to my doctor's scale. I only paid $20 for it.

I have this one, too. I find it pretty accurate.
  • I have the EatSmart one. It looks pretty, I like that it lights up and turns on when you step on. But it does have a memory, so it will always show you the same weight it you're within a pound. I work around this by keeping a 2 lb dumbbell on a shelf near it and hold that to "reset" the memory if I don't trust the reading. My other issue with it is that you have to leave it in one place. If you move it, it has to re-calibrate to get the "instant reading when you step on" feature to work.
  • had a scale like that - drove me MENTAL. if it wasn't "absolutely level", then the readings were all over the map - and i lived in an ancient and decrepit house - the only thing "level" were the eavestroughs (which aren't supposed to be).
  • My 11 dollar health o meter is about to go out to the trash. I have had it for a long time, but it is notorious for inconsistent readings. I weighed 146 the first time I stepped on it this morning...then back to back to back..... 145....then 145.6 for the next 4 times I stepped on it. I JUST changed the batteries too.....so...yeah I am frustrated! I just ordered a new one by Taylor. It was the best bathroom scale rated on the consumer reports.....so I hope I at least get more consistency with the new one.
  • I have a Taylor scale I got at Target for around $25. I can't find the exact model, but it's plastic and has two thin horizontal buttons that you put the balls of your feet on. It's the only scale I've ever had that will give me consistent results, which is a huge deal for me because I hate imprecision! I step on it at least three times every morning in slightly different places on the floor, and it's almost always consistent.
  • thanks for all the suggestions!

i actually have a taylor scale right now. the glass one with the four metal circles on it & i keep getting different readings up to a pound or 2 within a short time span.
