Realizations... crazy.
Today, I visited my school's gym for the first time in about a year. There were a couple things I noticed...
1) As I was setting up the pedometer on my iPod, I went to put in my weight and realized the last time I put in my weight, I weighed 260lbs. I weigh just at/under 230 now. That's an accomplishment. I'm guessing that was at least 2 years ago; I don't even remember when the last time I used my pedometer was. 2) I got on the elliptical and saw myself in the mirror, and remembered me doing the same thing 1-2 years ago. I look SO much better now! My legs aren't near as fat, and while I'm still obviously overweight, I just don't look so BIG, nor do I look so sloppy. I look neater and leaner and everything just looks better. 3) Before, I couldn't stay on the elliptical for longer than 15 minutes. This time I stayed on for 30, and really felt like I could've gone for another 10 when I got off. And I actually felt AMAZING afterward, when before, I felt like I was about to croak. It's amazing to me how just a 30lb (And maybe even more, IDK how accurate my weight was when I put it in that iPod) drop makes such a HUGE difference in my looks, how I can exercise, and the way I feel -- physically and emotionally. I feel like an entirely different person. I can't wait for the next 30lbs to go so I can feel this all over again. :) |
First of all, congrats and great job!!! :carrot:
I know what you mean. It's great when every once in a while you stop and look back at where you were and are shocked. You'll see an old pic, or notice something random like "wait, my arms were a LOT bigger than this!" Those are the great moments that help keep you going. Thanks for sharing, it's inspirational for everyone to hear. You're doing so well, keep it up!!! |
WOOOHOOOO! That is uber exciting :) I can't wait to not be embarrassed when I enter my weight on the recumbent bike in the gym.
