Oh it feels good to be missed :) I'm so glad to hear you all are feeling better. I'm only going to make a short post here ...I'm pretty tuckered and just realized it's after 11. So it sees Spring is upon us all and the dreaded (for me) bathing suit season is also. So I'm getting back to a diet. I need to look around and find something to suit me. If anyone has any sites that you thing might interest me, you can email me. But I'll be around more often now. Try to get back to posting with you all. I've slacked way off girls. So it's gonna be rough for me. So nighty nite hope you all are sleeping well

spryng 03-10-2003 02:19 PM

I am so glad you are going to be back with us Misty!! That is so great. As far as sites go that are about diets I find this one to be helpful http://www.epinions.com/well-Nutriti...ee_them_all_~1 it's at epinions.com and it list 29 different diets with rating from people who have tried them and what they are about and such. You may find it helpful. Let me know what you think ok?
Well, I'm only on here briefly today. I hit 25 weeks along today!! woohoo! I'm happy. I feel good. My midwife appointment is only two days away and I'm looking forward to that also. Since my house was overly cleaned yesterday I find I'm bored today. I could work on laundry but.... nah! Just don't have it in me right now. So it's a lazy kind of day for me.
Hope everyone is having a great day!

Hi~!

I've been here, just lurking a bit lately. SPRYNG, I'm glad to hear that you're feeling better, I was worried about you. Take care, and keep a close eye on your BP, we want you and the baby to be healthy!

Jackie & Ginny~ Hope things are getting back to normal for y'all! It's so rough when everyone gets sick, just take care!

Welcome back Misty! Hope you find a good healthy plan, to get you ready for your bikini!

As for me, I'm doing good, most all of the moning sickness has gone and I'm starting to feel great! Still having the headaches though!?! But my DR. told me to take my Migraine meds if I need to, so at least that option is still open? I'm sticking with Tylenol for now, at least until I can't handle the pain anymore! But I'm finding that if I lay down and rest for a while, several times a day, then I feel much better. Other than that, we're getting ready to head off to Branson, MO. on vacation in a few days, so I'm really excited about that!

Hope you all have a great day!

ECmom 03-10-2003 08:47 PM

Good evening!
Great to see all the posts!
Spryng- sounds like you are feeling better. I am so glad for that- you had us all in for a scare! Try not to overdo it, ok? And hope that your midwife visit goes well.

Melissa-- glad that you are feeling better- at least with regard to the migranes. I hope that tylenol keeps them under control for you. I hope that your Branson trip is restful and pleasant. Dh was there on business a few years ago and liked it. Have a great time!

Misty-glad that you will be back to joining us again!!! We missed you. Don't get down on yourself....as I said to the friend who just joined WW with me last week (and was bummed that she weighed in at almost 20# more than she expected) was not to sweat the weigh in- because it is the last time that she will weigh that much! Same for you!!!! I forget what you were doing before....diet wise.......I like WW because it is realistic- I can eat anything I like because the program enables you to adjust for any kind of food (within reason). One woman at a meeting admitted that she had cookies for several meals........as they took up all her points for the meal. Not something that is suggested.... but one way of dealing with it. You can do WW online- or just at home without the meetings. But yes, it costs.(I need the kick in the tail from the meetings). Good luck with whatever you decide. We are all here to cheer and help you!

Well, today I got a call from school that Ds relapsed into a fever- so I had to pick him up (100.6). Dh stayed home- so did Dd.... but she will go to school tomorrow. Dh and Ds will still be here, messing up the house..........as both of them have fevers this evening. I am going to try to convince Dh to get to theDr.......but I will probably have no luck with that! I did get a walk in this am- cold but fast- I wanted to get back as I had sickies here.
Gosh - I hope that I do not get this!!!
On that happy note, I had better go. Tomorrow is a long one for me- and I am not sure I will get online. Wednesday is WI day.....and I'll check in after that. Take care and have a great nite!
Ginny

spryng 03-10-2003 11:17 PM

Good evening all.
Well I checked my BP again today after normal activities and it was 104/67. That still seems kinda low to me. Does it to you? It's been three days since it dropped and still hasn't went back up to my normal 120/75ish . I'm going to call my midwife in the morning and ask her what my BP has been running when I see her (they don't actually tell me when they take it they just say it's normal) and I'm beginning to get worried. The baby is moving just fine though and I feel great so maybe I'm overreacting? What do you gals think?
Well, I'm retiring for the night. Sorry for the short posts lately. I'll talk to you all tomorrow.

Freckles 03-11-2003 12:15 AM

Good Evening!

Just in case dh needs the computer, I'm going to address Spryng first. When you are taking your bp, are you sitting up straight, or laying on your side? If you are laying on your side, it will be considerably lower, which is normal. If you are taking it sitting, it seems a little low-but...during a pregnancy, it's normally more of a panic if it's extremely high. I hope everything goes well for you & the baby! I'll keep you in my prayers. Misty: I'm so happy that you are posting regularly again! I don't think you have too much to worry about when it comes to putting on a swimsuit. It didn't seem that long ago that you were fitting into GIRLS size clothing!
I bet if I weighed what you weigh right now, I'd be jumping for joy! Don't be too hard on yourself, okay? Ginny: I'm sorry to hear that the fever returned for your ds. I sure hope that my ds doesn't get it back! Hopefully your ds & dh will be in a sleepy state while home so that they won't trash the house! I know what that feels like. I'm just starting to feel normal now. My house is/was trashed & I first started to climb my way out this eve. :crossed: Hopefully what I got done tonight, doesn't get undone by morning! As for yourself-I hope that you stay healthy. Are you taking your vitamins? I have to laugh at your reminders that you sent me in the PM last week!
I wasn't drinking my water or taking my meds. Oh!, you know me so well! And as for your ww meetings-You are giving me incentive!! (I know I said this the other day, but you still are inspiring me!) Mel: It's great to hear from you too! I'm sorry about your headaches though! Are you drinking enough fluids? Also-try drinking some OJ, this seemed to work for me while I was Pg. Well gals, I'm getting a little scatter brained, so I'll close for now before I get caught in the act!

ECmom 03-11-2003 11:49 AM

Good morning!!!
Ok, Ok I said I was not going to get a chance to post.......but by now you all know me and I do love to share in your lives.

Spryng- let us know what the midwife says, ok? Jackie was so right about position and also take your BP in both arms- and use the higher reading. I read an article about that recently. But I am glad that you are feeling good. Yes, your BP sounds a bit low to me- the very low end of normal- but you are doing the right thing and checking in with your medical folks.

Jackie- you brought up such an excellent point.....I am sure that whatever Misty weighs I would love to be too!!!!!! Glad that you are digging out of the house mess- and I hope that you can maintain it for a few days. I know how defeating it can be to clean only to find it all undone in an hour or two. I'll summarize my WW meeting for you tomorrow- glad that I can be of use to someone! Yes, I am taking vitamins and drinking a daily cup of echinecia tea- with the hope that it will help me keep the boogey man away and the flu too!!! How is FIL and your family? Take those meds and drink that water, Jackie!!! And spring is coming- more daylight and nicer weather!

As for me, I got a short walk in this am- about 20 minutes.
Friday- both girls bedrooms are getting carpeted- so I am gutting both of them -their stuff is going in the living room- so that all they have to do is lay the carpet. Dd (16) is getting new furniture on Saturday too-so my house looks like a tornado hit it.
And of course Dh and Ds are a trashing away.....both stilll sick....but at least semi pleasant to deal with.
As for me, I have a headache- have had one a week now, and I figure that that is all of the flu I am going to get. Must be all those veggies I am eating on WW.

Gotta go to Dd's school to help out during recess. See ya tomorrow!!!!

ECmom 03-12-2003 08:14 PM

Hi!
Just me here blabbering away again. What a long day! The kids on my bus were awful........but it seemed as though the whole district was that way- maybe it is something to do with the upcoming full moon.....and then trying to keep up with two sickies and trying to unload a teenagers room getting ready for the changes in her room (four loads of laundry of clothes left dirty on the floor). I am one tired puppy.

I did get to my meeting- I'm down 2.6# (TOM helped me out there!) and have lost a total of 11 so far on WW. I am happy! My friend lost 3.5# on week one- and she does not get any excercise to speak of - a rather sedentary lifestyle. I am thrilled for her and glad that she is sticking with it.
Today's WW topic was about a magic weight loss pill.......you take one three times a day and follow it with a brisk 15 minute walk.
Ok, a corny way of trying to get you to walk- but she made an excellent point. 3 hour mega work outs are not needed- one, two or three walks a day does just fine, sort of mini excercise sessions.
On that note, Dd is tired and I had better get her off to bed.
Stop in and say hello!!!!! Have a great nite.
Ginny

spryng 03-13-2003 11:49 AM

Good morning all!
Ginny congrats on your loss! You are doing so great! Are you starting to see the weightloss now? Are your clothes getting loose? I hope so. It always feels so good to actually see the loss. WW sounds like a great program. Very practical information. And I love that you share it with us!!
Well, my midwife appointment was yesterday. All was good. She said my blood pressure has been running 106/68 during this whole pregnancy and that is normal for me. Just to be careful not to over do it. And if I have another episode where it drops like it did to lay down and drink something with caffeine (it raises blood pressure) and to eat something with sugar because my sugr levels drop when my blood pressure does. But I am normal after all! lol. I gained 9 lbs!!! But that was in 5 weeks. She wasn't concerned about it. My total gain so far is 14 lbs so that isn't bad since I'm almost 26 weeks along. But I'm going to try and stop snacking so much, especially on junk food. I'm getting into a bad habit of that. I made up a vegetable tray and have been trying to munch on that when I feel hungry. But sometimes you just have to have chocolate!! I just need to eat alot less of it. But the baby's heartbeat was great, my uterus is finaly measuring normal not ahead anymore so that is good. And everything else is fine. I am going in tomorrow to take my glucose test and get my RhoGam shot. (ouch) but at least it will be over.
Well, got to get off here. Talk to you all later! Have a great day!

ECmom 03-13-2003 09:20 PM

Good evening!
Spryng- I am so glad that all went well with your midwife appt today and that you and the baby are just fine! Sounds like some good advice with the have some caffiene/eat some sugar idea. Hey......I have an idea.......chocolate has caffiene and sugar....of course for the caffiene to do any good you would have to eat a lot of it- but you have an excuse to eat chocolate!!!!;) (I have a warped mind). Your weight gain sounds fine too. Hope that the glucose tolerance test goes ok and that the shot does not hurt too much. Is that one of those really big shots?? I never had one, I do not know.

Yes, I am feeling and looking a wee bit thinner. Some pants are getting too big- others are just fitting better. But I have a long way to go.......I am not sure what I will use as my goal weight for WW. I'm glad that you like the summary of the WW meeting. Our leader is so dynamic- and with a really bubbly personality- she's contagious. I'm paying for the meeting- so you might as well benefit from it too!
What a long day.......I had to totally clean out both Dd's rooms for the carpet tomorrow. And Dd (16) got sentimental over every dust bunny........ok, I am exaggerating but it was almost that bad!
Then it snowed this afternoon- and the pm trip home on the bus was really slippery. So, I am pooped!!
On that happy note, I am off to get some rest. Have a great nite!
Ginny

K2BMe 03-13-2003 11:40 PM

awww Ginny good for you! I'm so happy for ya hun. Its a great feeling to have your slacks fit looser. Thanks for the info on WW too. I have a friend who is doing it and she looks fab! I just don't know how i could ever work the meetings and all into my life. Def. something to think about tho.
Spryng, I missed it. what did the midwife say about your bp? Mine has always been low even while pregos. I'm funny that way I guess. I'm gonna check that site out here in a sec i'll be sure and let you know.
Mel, good to hear from you :) I bet you are so excited about that baby!
Jackie... you'd be suprized. I tried on those size 14 girls slacks and no way were they going past my knees! I'll bet I'm nearing 135#. And I'm 5'3 3/4". So I've packed it on. Mostly in the hips :( I'm a stress eatter and I've had a great deal of stress since December. Sooo I reckon it is beginning to show.
I've had a rough day so I won't go on much here. I'm very tired. Still no plan to follow but i did make it on the recumbent bike for 20 min and did alot of target exercises to work over my bum and thigh areas.
I lost my email... again. So frustrating. So my new email is [email protected] incase anyone has tried to reach me ;)
gosh I hope that is all I wanted to say... if not I'll be back in the am.
Nighty Nite,
Misty

Freckles 03-14-2003 01:15 AM

Hello!

I shouldn't be up at this hour typing away, but oh well! I'll TRY to make this a short one. ;) Misty: So what that you can't get those size 14 kids pants past your knees, their for kids, hun! I was really worried about you when you were that size. And as I said the other day-I'd probably be happy to weigh what you weigh now. Now that you revealed what you weigh-I do so envy you! I'm 5' 4.5" and my goal is to weigh 140#. I'm way.... past that # and I don't even want to go there! I'm sorry to hear that you had a rough day. I hope that Friday will be better for you. Ginny: Congratulations on losing 11# on WW! I didn't realize that you lost that much already! Has this been since you joined the meetings, or is it since you started the program? Any way that you look at it, that is awesome! I sure wish that I could get completely motivated! I hope that you got the much needed rest you so deserve! You'll have to let us know how the carpets turn out. Spryng: I'm glad to hear that your midwife appt. went well. Oh! By the way....thanks for e-mailing me your pictures. You're just as cute as I thought you'd be! I printed a copy of the pictures, tummy & all! Funny thing is that my ds used the computer after me & next to the printer was the belly shot! I ended up finding your pictures upside down next to the printer.
I questioned my ds about why the pictures were turned upside down & he just said oh Mom! I guess for a 14 y/o boy, a pg belly shot is kind of embarrassing to him! He's not into the girlfriend thing yet, so I guess I should be somewhat relieved at his comments! As for your healthy eating goes-good for you on making up a tray of veggies! A little chocolate & caffeine dosen't hurt anyone either! Well gals, I'm getting really sleepy, so I'll close for now. Good Night!

spryng 03-14-2003 12:37 PM

Good morning all!
I guess it's almost afternoon isn't it? O-well. The day is escaping me already. I have so much cleaning to do and just don't want to. I need to throw a "lets do all my laundry" party. It's getting ridiculous. I have 4 huge laundry baskets full of dirty clothes and an enormus pile of clean clothes in my room that is taking up way too much space and I can't find anything!! I don't mind washing and drying but I HATE HATE HATE to fold and put away. Do you gals have some tips on how to make this not like a chore? or to make it easier? I really need to get caught up. It's making me anxious.
Other than that today is going ok. Did I tell you we have two new puppies?? They are lab/australian sheppard mixed. Their going to be big dogs. But that is what I wanted. Big backyard dogs. They are 8 weeks old and are 100% outside dogs. I like that part. But they are cute. The black one is my ds's and his name is COAL and the spotted one is my dd's and his name is TRICKLE. (it looks like something trickled all over it lol) They are cute.
Jackie, that is funny about your ds turning the picture face down. Show's he's got morals. Doesn't even want to see a pregnant woman just showing her belly! lol. That's good.
Well, I guess I'll get off here. I can't believe the weekend is here already! Are the weeks flying by or is it just me? Talk to you all later!

ECmom 03-15-2003 03:04 AM

Hi!
I'm not sure if it is night or morning.....I just could not sleep so I thought I would check in and say hello instead of wasting time trying to get some shut eye.

Misty- well, lets see.........I stand with Jackie on the weight issue also. I'm 5'4 1/2 and I would love to weigh 135#. As a matter of fact there is a good chance that I will make that my goal weight for WW. Guess my advice to you is not to be too hard on yourself, ok? I hear you with regards to having the time to get to WW meetings. For me, I realized that I had to make that time for myself- there is little that I do that is not service to my family or work. The meetings are helping me stay the course and yes they do take time but they are helping me serve my family better, because I feel better. Sorry to hear that you had such a rough day- and that things have been so tough since December.
Is there any chance that this situation will ease up a bit? Hang in there, we are all here for you!!

Jackie- the 11# is since I started the meetings. I got so disgusted with myself and can't believe the weight that I was at.
How are you doing? Is life getting any less hectic for you- I remember only a few posts ago you were all out busy with some family concerns. I hope that your life has calmed down a bit.
Take your meds, drink that water and have a big hug from me!

Spryng- gee those puppies sound so cute! Lots of luck with them- I am sure that your kids must love the new addition to your family. As far as the laundry goes......there is little I can do to offer advice to make that a more palatable job. I have become more strict with myself in terms of making myself finish the job of putting away all those clothes. ( I hate it too!) In other words- I will use a walk (you know how I LOVE my walks) as a reward for finishing putting away the wash, or a cup of tea or a favorite TV show (ok, I'll fold during that and make it a game to put away during the commercials so I do not miss any). And I do not allow myself to get too far behind either. Mondays are my big wash day- sheets, change all the towels, anything that is not nailed down......... and I just grit my teeth and get thru it. That can be 6-7 loads of laundry, but not always that much. Then the rest of the week is just maintainance, 1 or 2 loads a day and that keeps it somewhat managable. No great wisdom here.....but that is how I manage. But your family is younger than mine and little kids can be tough to keep in clean clothes.

The carpet came out beautiful.......we are so happy with it!!!! I spent most of today restoring Dd's (7) room to normal- there is still a ways to go but the end is near. I am happy that because I stripped the rooms to allow the installation of carpet- I washed the windows, vacuumed the baseboard heating etc..... that except for the closets spring cleaning is done in those rooms. I feel great about that!!! Now lets just see how long this clean lasts........... The other bedroom (the 16 year old) has a long way to go. She is such a pack rat- there is no way that I will allow her to put all that junk back in her room. It is strewn all over the house at the present...... and her new furniture comes this afternoon. But at least she will be off to a new start - and hopefully can be made to see how she needs to lighten up what she keeps.

Guess I'll try to get some sleep.......sorry for blabbing on and on here. Have a good weekend!
Ginny

ECmom 03-15-2003 08:03 PM

Good evening-
well, the furniture is gorgeous- and Dd's room looks wonderful.
I'm in for a busy evening/night/ day tomorrow. Dm fell, and probably broke her wrist- and I'm waiting for a call back from the hospital to see if she is ok- and if I should drive down tonight. (about an hour 10 minute drive). I came online to see if my sister was on instant messenger so that we could discuss this while I am waiting for the call from the hospital. Ah, someday my life will be boring!
I'll keep you posted.
Ginny
