Found a really cool weight loss projection spreadsheet

Hey ladies! I'm not sure if this has been posted about before, but I found a link to a cool weight-loss projection spreadsheet. It's super easy to use, you just download the spreadsheet, put in your information, and it gives you an estimate of what you'll weigh weekly for a few months.

I know — everyone's different, it's impossible to predict, you shouldn't focus on numbers, the whole spiel, but personally it motivates me to see what could happen if I stick to my plan, so I figured I'd share in case anyone else finds it interesting.

Here's the link: http://myinnerthin-hmr.blogspot.com/...readsheet.html

That`s pretty neat! Too bad I low carb so my losses are a little different/more on that then calorie counting alone. But it's nice to get an idea :)

Pretty nifty! I went back to my own charts and plugged in my numbers (I'm a WWer) and checked my results against the numbers on the chart. The nifty part was that the last weight on the chart, compared to my actual weight on that day, was only off by .1 lbs! LOL

I plugged in my info, so I'm curious to see if it matches up! :)

Questionable...

Regarding the excel spreadsheet - I downloaded it, plugged in my numbers and see the "potential" weightloss for me but in reality, it's very hard for me to lose weight because of a thyroid disease. The spreadsheet calculates I should be losing almost 5lbs a week based on my activity levels, current weight and calorie intake. However, in real life, I'm lucky to lose even a pound in a week no matter how much I starve myself and work myself to the bone trying to burn calories.
I would love for these numbers to be accurate for "me" but I sure like the spreadsheet. I just have a question - where do the formulas come from in cell F12? What is the significance of the 3500 divider?

wow, that is really cool. And so far, pretty accurate for me. I plugged in all my info and my start date of 1/6 at 257. It said that I would weigh 233.1 as of 3/10. I'm actually slightly ahead of that pace at 232.4 on 3/5. It has me at 219.2 as of 4/14 and that is exactly my goal - to get to the teens by 4/15 (my birthday).

It's even got me in Onederland on 6/30 - my best case scenario goal is by July 4th. So hopefully I'll be able to keep up with the pace it's estimating!!

You have to burn 3500 calories a week to lose one pound.

Makes Sense!

That's really interesting. I'm a total numbers person, so being able to see it all out there was pretty neat. It's good to see when I could hit potential "goals" and also seeing how the calorie demand decreases as the weight decreases (which makes sense) and so if I want to speed up weight loss as I get further down the line, I need to eat less or exercise more. Playing with the calories and total exercise numbers let's you see that adjustment and what will be help keep the weight coming off as I get closer to my goal!
