Hi Calmeida518,

I'm having the same problem you are having. I am exercising at least 5 times a week and eating within plan, yet the scale is moving in the wrong direction. I have decided to make an appointment to see an endocrinologist on Monday. I hope I get some answers. How are you doing? Let me know if you finally saw results on the scale.

Hi Pretty Mom : )

Well, after the whole measuring of fluctuating weight from 177.4, to as low as 173 last week, today was official WI day at weight watchers (I do it only on my own) I was back at 177. So, needless to say I was upset.

But my clothes ARE fitting better... So now I'm changing my strategy this week. I am going to weight every other day, and am going to measure today. I don't expect to see any significant measurement changes, so may do that once a week on my weigh in days.

Please let me know what MD says - I'm going to go with the "muscle weights more than fat" theory for now and see if in a month my weight catches up with my eating habits and my exercise. It's not like I was secretly bingeing and expecting to be losing, that's what's upsetting, I am NOT!!!!

I finish my 30 days of Bikram tomorrow, and will then start doing it about 5-6 times a week or maybe 4 times with a aerobic/weight DVD. But make no mistake... Bikram is a kick bu-- work out and I know people who only do Bikram and they have no body fat and look awesome, so I don't buy the theory of doing the same thing all the time stops you from losing weight - you don't do it every day bc you are not feeling the same day every day, sometimes you work your legs more, sometimes your arms, then your back, so you do get a variety. It's not like doing bicep curls the same way every day... So again, I'm very frustrated. But I am an ER nurse and see a lot of people my age or even younger who look awful and you can tell it is because they do not take care of themselves, not bc they have a terrible disease or had a horrible accident...so I do not want to become one of them, and want to enjoy my life. Hence the frustration.

Please stay in touch so we can help each other out.

Take care,
C

Started measuring, hopefully that'll give me more confidence and strength to keep moving forward. Weight today 175, 2 less than Friday. Let's see what happens by next Friday.

I am eating more this week (still within my points) to see if maybe I was eating to little and my body was "holding on" to the weight...

Finishing Bikram 30 day challenge, trying to figure out what other exercise challenge to begin... If Bikram, I'm going in 10 day increments. 30 is hard (they do 60 straight at studios here in the US and start at 100 in Europe!!! That'd be insane for me!!!)

I was doing a lot of cardio, and not losing. I would bet that the fluctuations are water weight. How much sodium are you taking in a day? I looked at a low sodium diet and I think its suppose to be under 2000 a day. I know its bad but a few weeks back I ate a plate of cheese fries, and I gained 7 pounds, talk about crazy, I'm sure it was the combination of fat/car/sodium that did it more than the calories. What was wrong with your foot? I have a foot problem too. Are you using your Weight Watchers activity points?

Hi Rosemarie, sorry it took me a while to respond to your question, I was re-reading the thread and just saw them.

I don't take a lot of sodium, and 2g a day is actually a low sodium diet, regular adults can have up to 4g (I'm a nurse and give pts 2g low sodium per MD order)

I had a torn ligament on my left foot that required surgery with a big screw inserted in my heel, was in a wheel chair for 2 months, one of the reasons I went back to yoga. I couldn't do cardio and needed to get my balance and leg strength back. And hot yoga burns a lot of calories, so it's working both ways.

I am getting about 36 activity points a week, and no, I do not use them. I sometimes use all my extra points. Last week I didn't at all and stayed the same weight, so this week I am going to use them all and see what happens. Weight myself today and it showed -2lbs could be a fluke, but we'll see. Are you on Weight Watchers too?

Started measuring too in order to offset some of my frustration with the weight. Wish I'd started sooner. Hot Yoga challenge ends today (30 days straight) and will see what else to do.

Please keep me posted on your progress!
Take care,
C
