While excessive thirst is a sign of diabetes, so is excessive urination, along with the urine is "sticky".

I work for a veterinarian, and the signs and symptoms are the same in animals as in people.

Also, living in New Jersey, yup, it's probably cold, heat turned up. Is it dry out there?

Then you mention hypoglycemic.

I would very carefully monitor sugar, natural and not, plus the weather and your diet in general for the next week or so and see what happens and how you feel.

Also monitor your intake of water and your output in urine.

Get a couple of pots or pans and set them in front of your heat vents for moisture if getting a humidifier is an issue. And when you're at home keep a big pot of water simmering on the stove. Moisture in the air. Sneak out of bed and turn the thermo DOWN. Everyone will sleep better. I live in Nebraska, cold and dry here. Our thermo is set on 64. We sleep so much better.

For a few days you might consider changing your breakfast to protein and veggies only. See how that works. Turkey sausage, eggs or egg beaters and sauteed mushrooms and onions or whatever veggies turn your crank. But totally skip any kind of sugar/carbs in the morning.

Diabetes does run in my family, however, I'm the opposite with the hypo glycemic problem. My body does best with the protein/veg breakfast. My body can't tolerate sugar, fruit, certain carbs until after I've had breakfast and lunch.

Just my thoughts. Take it for what it's worth.

I'm very doubtful I have diabetes. I have no family history, plus breakfast is really the only time I have sweets (besides fruit), otherwise, my meals are mostly veggies. I always eat wholesome and plantfoods (no refined sugar or grains). I also have a tendency to be hypoglycemic, too.
As far as the maple syrup goes, though, I really crave the maple-flavor. We used to get Grade B, which has such a stronger flavor than Grade A, but I haven't seen it. I guess it's not in season... I'm not sure how the seasons work.

Anyway, after I had breakfast, things didn't seem to be nearly as bad. I think I may be sick, actually... Which may be why. My tongue does feel a little burned, too, so I'm wondering if it's just a dry tongue issue?

It was really terrible though; I drank so much water this morning and then was stuck in an hour car ride to go bird watching with my science teacher! I had to the bathroom so bad in the car, I was about to cry XD

Not to be mean, but just because there is no family history of diabetes as far as you know does not mean you are immune to the disease. My entire family is diabetic, and yet here I am an overweight woman who has good A1C, and am not anywhere near the word diabetic.

That being said, it comes and goes the thirst. Are you taking any sort of over the counter medication? If so that could be an issue. Or as suggested you may need to get more potassium and magnesium in your system.

Just think about this. It never hurts to air on the side of caution when it comes to any disease. Best to know you are in the best health possible then in the dark.
