How much did the holidays set you back?

Weight-wise? For me it was 1 pound officially :o

baker23 01-04-2012 03:48 PM

I actually lost, and i'm still trying to figure that one out 0.o...From Halloween to Thanksgiving I stayed the same, Thanksgiving to Christmas I lost 6 pounds.

Only gaining one pound during the holidays is pretty impressive. :) Congrats on not going overboard

Ditto!

Crazy Newfie Jen 01-04-2012 03:51 PM

I weigh in at WW, and I was down 9.8 the week after Christmas... did great but then lost it NY's Eve/Day. I was up 3 lbs this am on my scale. So overall, down 6ish pounds :)

Mimzzy 01-04-2012 03:56 PM

1lb through the holiday season is pretty amazing, especially with all those goodies hanging around! I actually went down about 2lbs and then right after my new years eve food fest I lost another 3lbs. Not sure how or why but I'll take what I can get!

berryblondeboys 01-04-2012 04:01 PM

I might be the record holder for most gained of the holidays. From December 15th to January 1st I gained 14.6 pounds. Yep! My husband ate as much if not more and moved far less and gained 2. (we had the same starting weight). How is that just?

So far I'm down 2.8 from tht but it will take a long time to undo that damage. So much for thinking I might maintain for the month of December! I had no idea my body would retract so strongly to eating more and to incorporating carbs (which I'm not used to eating sugars).

baker23 01-04-2012 04:12 PM

Melissa- at least you know now your body can't handle going back to that amount of carbs and I doubt you'll ever gain that much again. :) Trial and error. Good job on losing almost 3 pounds of the gained weight

I have you tied I think. But I just lay down and ate from the begining of december till this monday. I was just sick of eating by New Years Day. Didn't stop me of course, but hopefully I will remember that feeling.

sontaikle 01-04-2012 04:29 PM

I was trying to maintain and I wound up losing two pounds instead.

lm3898 01-04-2012 04:29 PM

Christmas Day/NYE were ok, the eating the week between was awful - bit NYC dinners of Italian & Mexican - so good, so unhealthy - everything was a bit tight when I went back to work yesterday...

LisaTcan 01-04-2012 04:46 PM

Up 3 :(

PreciousMissy 01-04-2012 04:47 PM

5lb gain here! I decided to give myself a present and enjoy the holiday goodies

I gave myself a cut off date that I had to stop eating all the junk food. Low and behold that day came and I tried to talk myself into just one more day of eating junk.

My body went into shock yesterday! I felt horrible and sluggish all day. I stuck to my veggies and protein and woke up feeling 80% better! I forgot how cruddy all that junk food made me feel!

djs06 01-04-2012 04:57 PM

I gained 9.2 lbs between December 23rd and January 1. Ack. But I've already lost a few. It's mostly water so I'm not too concerned... it'll make my first official weigh-in exciting. :)

Me too, but have since lost one. Haven't changed my ticker tho. I'm also about to have TOM so maybe I have lost more than 1. We'll see in a week!

ennay 01-04-2012 07:40 PM

Lost 9

Larry H 01-04-2012 07:40 PM

shishkeberry 01-04-2012 08:07 PM

I gained 7 from Christmas, lost it by the 29th, gained the whole 7 back from New year's, and as of this morning I lost it all again. So all told I only gained .2. I'll take it! I'm back on track now and hoping to lose some serious pounds this year.

Madame Souza 01-04-2012 10:31 PM

I gained 2 lbs over Christmas but lost 5 since then. Not too bad.

juliana77 01-04-2012 10:44 PM

I am up 1 but that is normal for this time of my cycle... Will have to see if I get my usual whoosh next week. I didn't go crazy though, was only 1-200 calories over on the special days, but I drank alcohol and ate more carbs than usual.

Horo 01-04-2012 11:40 PM

Somehow, without even trying, I lost 3 lb. :goodvibes

Napia 01-04-2012 11:46 PM

I did just fine. I ate whatever I wanted but I also got out to jog/walk before and after eating on thanks giving an d also on christmas. Shootmy monthly visitor put me up 10 pounds --- not my eating.

It's all gone now and I broke my plateau and even went down a size toboot! It doesn't get any better than that.

SunnyJee 01-05-2012 04:26 AM

Not sure what the damage is yet... I had hit 110lbs near the beginning of December, and whenever I hit a new low, my weight will fluctuate for a while. So it would go 111, 112, 110, etc... Currently it's my TOM, and scale the other day showed 115. I have been working out very hard for the past four days, and my eating is absolutely on track, so I wil be monitoring my weight and see. I anticipate atleast 2-3 lbs of bloat/water eight to drop ASAP...especially with the intensity of my recent workouts.

(secret thought: I don't think I'll ever like my body. Not truly. I look at my flubby tummy, my big arms, my small "girls", and I just wonder why I don't look like so many of those other girls out there-seemingly so naturally perfect. I have come so far, but I don't see my finish line. I don't see the day I'll wake up and be happy with my naked self.)

melodymist 01-05-2012 04:46 AM

I lost 4.4 pounds :D

deblosingit 01-05-2012 06:04 AM

I'm up 1 pound. I'm happy that I did so well and I am back on program now.

kirsteng 01-05-2012 07:45 AM

I'm officially up 3 for the Christmas season. I don't find that too bad, considering I had a few days of off-plan eating over Christmas proper... but then had some really sad news in the family. My stepdad went into hospice on the 24th and ended up passing away on the 30th. :( I was a continent away and unable to get there in time... so needless to say, my plan was completely the last thing on my mind. I drank too much wine, ate whatever crossed my plate.. so all in all, I don't consider 3 pounds too bad. I'm back on track now and hoping to get back to where I was shortly.

Snoofie 01-05-2012 10:03 AM

.2 pounds. I am *thrilled*.

Satellites 01-05-2012 10:04 AM

nada! officially weighed in at on the 28th at the same weight i did on the 22nd, which was really good :) and since then i have dropped another half kilo (1 lb). yay! i was really surprised... i didn't gorge but i definitely ate a lot more chocolate than normal!

Beach Patrol 01-05-2012 10:06 AM

Been on a plateau since T'giving. Keep bouncing around the same 4-5 lb. But I know it's sodium/water weight because it's so quick (155 New Year's Eve, 156 New Year's Day, 159 Jan 2, and 156 Jan 3, etc.) so I'm not really worried about it. I decided that I wouldn't "go crazy" during the holidays, but I also didn't plan to track my food, etc. I didn't eat with gusto, but I didn't worry about food intake, either. I simply ate what I wanted in controlled portion sizes.

Yesterday was my 1st day back at work since xmas break. I'm back to regular routine now, & expect to see the scale start to move in downward motion again on a regular basis. :^:

ghlover 01-05-2012 10:54 AM

Congrats to those who were able to lose lol!
I'm not kicking myself over the 1lb, but am getting back on track this week and feel good, I wouldn't say great just yet but I do feel good lol

lissvarna 01-05-2012 12:45 PM

Down 3. This always happens when I eat poorly. I stick very well to my plan normally, and when I go off for a weekend or holiday I immediately lose 2-4 pounds when I get off plan.

So for example, I'm planning on having a fun superbowl and eating whatever. It works for me! Until then I'll be on plan.

sirius93 01-05-2012 02:13 PM

roughly 4 pounds ):

Precious Little 01-06-2012 03:16 AM

about 0.5kg but I"m guessing it is from TOM rather than holiday weight gain because I've actually been working out more and didn't really overindulge over xmas/newyear

knoxie 01-06-2012 03:26 PM

Officially 4.5lbs but it was up around 7lbs the day right after Christmas day :o

ma26 01-06-2012 03:39 PM

I looked to be up 10 lbs at first. But after normalizing my eating dropped three pounds in like two days. So maybe water weight or bloat accounted for part of the gain. But definitely up 7 lbs. So sad!!! I also usually dont eat sugar at all. I dont go seeking sweets, but I can't seem to leave them alone when I am surrounded by them. The week of christmas we were at different relatives homes and surrounded by cinnamon rolls, candy, cookies, pies, cakes, sugar sugar sugar. And I ate and ate and ate! I gained those seven pounds in that month between Thanksgiving and Christmas. (I was weighing and maintaining till Thanksgiving at which time I didnt step on the scale till right before new years) I have never gained weight that quickly in all my life! Sugar is evil!!!!

ma26 01-06-2012 03:44 PM

Congrats to those who lost or maintained or had very minor gains. I applaud you and wish I had your skills of will power!
