Dance as though no one is watching you,
Sing as though no one can hear you, Love as though you've never been hurt , and live as though heaven's on earth! (In case you missed it on the last thread)...Gotta run, I'm having a massage @ 1! I'm so glad it hasn't started snowing here yet..I was worried the masseuse wouldn't make it in! |
Wow... in the time it took me to write "stop don't post here" both Michelle and Kat posted in the last thread.
I am curious to see if they both start a new thread too. LOL Susie... good to see you again. Wish you could come more often. Michelle... the last time we got 28 inches of snow was in 1970. It was beautiful . But then it all had to melt and that was a muddy mess !!! Kat .... thank you for the quote. I knew I had heard it many times... but could not remember it all. Okay... I got knocked off line since I started this post and Kat has reprinted her quote here. :D I think it is worth repeating. Darling hubby just walked in the door and said he is hungry... so I must JUMP and cook him something to eat. MEN !!!! |
Ok gals......you know where I will be at today!!
It's the Daytona 500 baby!! http://www.news-journalonline.com/sp...2001/bud14.jpg |
Tina is in absentia until the race is over! Unfortunately, Tony is not in the lead at this time.
Kat: beautiful quote. If we could only live our lives like that and quit stressing about other people, success would be ours. 2cute: Somehow your "k" came up missing on cook and you are cooing your husband something to eat. Does it work better than food? Knowing my dh, probably. There is an old wive's tale that says when you hear lots of birds in the trees it means rain. Well, there is a cacophony of them outside our window and we don't need more rain. We are so drenched. We went to the commissary yesterday and on the way crossed over the Wolf river which had flooded its banks and there was brown yuck everywhere. Darn, I just had my nails done Thur and I just noticed I broke my ring finger nail. Now it looks stupid so it is either make a trip to the salon or file it down and repaint them all. Poop! How vain am I? At least they looked nice going to church.l Well, gotta get the ole afternoon jaunt in. It is freezing out and I dread it, but gotta buck up and do it! Donna |
Wow...its sure is snowing up a storm here!! Kat did you get it yet???
I finished my paper...well I still have to type it up and revise it and all that stuff! But its pretty much written. I spread out on the bed while Andrew was napping and John was sleeping on the couch and I had the weather news on...thats all thats on here right now...and I writ away!! If thats a word!! I'm hoping Pennsylvania declares a state of emergency so I don't have to go to work...New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland already did! Its only suppose to get heavier tonight...we may be snowed in so we can't open the doors by morning! More time for me to get the rest of these assignments done!! And then get a jump start on my next set of classes which begin March 1st....only 2 weeks away!! Tina...I haven't been following the race...but I think the Lowe's car should win! And just FYI your boy is on the home page of my internet service provider today!! Ok I better get typing that paper! I'll be back!! TTFN Michelle |
Michelle: There is awful weather everywhere your way! Some places are getting at least 2 feet. We got slammed with rain (what Daytona is getting right now) and have flooded areas everywhere. It is just nasty no doubt about it and it was near 70 here yesterday and it is about 33 today and windy. I am bored stiff, but the dh is not taking the hint.
Looks like everyone must be glued to the tv as no one has posted much today. Well, I better go and try and find something to do. Donna |
Michelle: A suggestion from the snowbelt. Start shoveling now. Once you get to 2 or more feet even snowblowers have a hard time. I try to go out every 2 or 3 hrs. during heavy snow. 1: It makes me feel like I'm doing something. 2: Once in a while you really can get ahead.
Then come in get a nice hot cup of tea and veg with the family. Now's a good time to drag out the card table and a jigsaw puzzle. |
Howdy, all! No...I am definitely NOT in front of the TV...we just cam in from dinner at the Lone Star. It had just started snowing as we got there, everything ocmpletely covered by the time we left...I plan on shoveling in about an hour to burn off my dinner. Since I had only eaten an apple before dinner, I felt justified in my 14 oz steak, (I only ate half) 1/2 baked sweet potato, (w/butter) salad, and key lime pie! :T I plan on burning off lots of cals shoveling, so I'm not worried, It was delicious...and good to be all together. My boys survived the camping trip, they're now at the movies, seeing "Daredevil."
My massage was heavenly...I am making an appointment for next month...what a pleasant way to pass an hour! I can still smell the chocolate raspberry lotion she used!....mmm...I smell good enough to eat...get your mind out of the gutter, girls Chat was fun, as usual. Lots of laughs...I highly recommend it! Gotta get my shovelin' duds on, see you all later! |
Donna...just go plop yourself down next to hubby stark naked..I bet you won't be bored anymore!!
J-Ann....thats what I have John for! LOL He is out there right now for the 3rd time since 10 am this morning! I shovel when he is not here....but he needed something to do today...I did the dishes and cooked dinner and wrote my term paper and changed the boy and did grocery shopping this morning...And I threw a load of clothes in the wash.... Kat...yummmm....sweet potato with butter...I like them with a little bit of brown sugar mixed in with that melted butter....so...its YOUR hubby who shares a birthday with John...do you have any plans to help him celebrate??? 2Cute...1970 huh? I was ummm...lets see...10 back then!! when this snow finally melts..my backyard is going to be a lake!! We had 6 inches of snow on the ground before this one started falling this morning...Andrew's little snow shovel was buried out there somewhere...it will be months before we find it now! Tina...did your boy win today? How about the Lowe's car...did they even come close?? Where's Lucky today? Do tell us if we missed anything good at chat...I climbed into bed last night about 7:30...I was exhausted! Well I just need to add a couple of paragraphs to my paper to make it drag out to 5 pages in length...its suppose to be 5-10 pages but I am going to settle with 5 and be done! I think I did well enough on the final and I got a B on the midterm and my assignments have all been A's, B's and a C. I'll catch up to you all again later! TTFN Michelle |
Sorry I just have to say this to my dear dear friend TINA....
Sorry girlfriend...I think Jimmie Johnson is just a tad bit better a driver than your boy Tony!! And don't say its cause they called the race 'cause of the rain!!! I love you girlfriend..you know I'm just bustin' your chops!!! |
Rise and shine !!!!!!
Good morning all you lovely ladies. :D I did not want anyone waking up and not find a single new post. Especially Michelle since she was the last one to post anything. ;) :cb: It is Monday morning and time to start our new day, our new week, our new way of life, off to a great start. :D Okay... so let's all take in a few DEEP BREATHS.... HOLD in your tummies..... now blow it out. INnnnnn..... OUTttttttt. Do it a couple more times and you can say you exercised your stomach muscles already this morning. Way to go !!! :high: Okay... that took care of the physical... now for the emotional. POSTIVE AFFIRMATIONS !!!! Repeat after me..... "I am a beautiful person and I will act accordingly." "I am a powerful person and I will act accordingly" "I am a thinner person and I will eat accordingly" "I am a happier person and I will smile accordingly" You guys are doing AWESOME !!!! :cp: Now for the spiritual solution. Repeat after me.... "God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change The courage to change the things I can And the WISDOM to know the difference." SERENITY... if you cannot change your weight overnight... then ACCEPT IT. You weigh what you weigh... for today. That does not mean you will always weigh this. Just for today love yourself as you ARE. COURAGE... it takes courage to make changes. To give up old favorites. To exercise when you want to vegetate. Courage to hold your tongue when you want to gripe. Courage to be grateful for a half a pound when you wanted 3. The way we were didn't work. Be courageous and change yourself for the better. WISDOM.... ah... the HARDEST one. Knowing what needs to change and what needs to be accepted as is. I bet if you stop long enough to be still and listen to your inner "good self" you will find that wisdom...within you. ;) Okay ladies.... Your day has started off on the right foot. Now take it ONE STEP AT A TIME.... one pound at a time. :dancer: Do what needs to be done today for your success. !!!! (How'a that for Monday Motivation? LOL ) |
Hello hello!
2cute: thanks for all the inspirational stuff. I could use it this morning. For all you ladies buried in whatever feet of snow, I apologize for the whining, but here goes. It is COLD here and I am tired of walking in the cold and wet weather so I am a grump about going out this morning! Ok, I think I can get over it now, maybe, sort of, kind of..... Michelle: Tx for the naked suggestion. If you knew the kind of stuff he and I do all the time to each other, you would understand there is enough of that in this house anyway. He did keep asking me if I wanted him to turn off the race and finally they called it a second time for rain delay so he turned it off and came upstairs and played RISK, which you can't stop in the middle of so I left him alone. My favorite BBC program had several back to back episodes so I watched it (Keeping Up Appearances). That woman is so intolerable, pushy etc, but it is a hilarious show I think. Thin: Tried the apple salad and it is very good. Kat: I admire a woman that can have a massage. I could never put my fat bod on a table and let them work on it! Choc/Rasp, huh? Gosh, I think that would make me hungry smelling myself all the time!  J-Ann: Boy there is nothing that will take the lbs off like shoveling snow. I remember those days! We had an incredibly long driveway when I was a kid and it took hours to do. No snowblowers for us, not even snow shovels. We had those huge metal ones that weighed a ton themselves. Tina: Boy that was some race what there was of it! That crash of the kid from my hometown (something Ryan or Ryan something) was something else. Can't believe he just walked away from it. I told dh isn't it amazing that Earnhart Sr died in a crash that didn't look as serious and you would have sworn it would have killed that kid the way it tore up and tumbled. Well, this is NOT getting out in the cold and getting in the walk so I better get the posting finished and hit the bricks! Later, girlies, Donna |
Thanks, 2cute...
...for that early dose of Monday Motivation! I very often say the Serenity Prayer...it keeps me focused.
Oh my, all my snow shovelling efforts have been completely obliterated! It's so windy, everything has drifted, but it's so pretty! And still snowing! Supposed to snow all day long. It is very light though, not that heavy, break your back shoveling kind of snow....but also not good for snowmen...on the other hand, GREAT for sleigh riding! Tonight would be the night I have to go back to work...thank God for 4WD. I'm going to make some coffee...I'll be back... |
Yahoo even with aches and pains this am did my best time ever on my walk. Love that Neil Diamond. He has a song, "Shiloh" and it comes 3rd on my tape and it just the right speed to up the tempo of walking. I use the same songs over and over because I can judge from previous walks whether I am doing better or not and was a good 20 feet or so ahead this time.
Kat: Ain't it the truth about being snowed in? When you want to stay in there are tons of errands to run, but leave it to a snowstorm to suddenly get cabin fever! You be careful when you have to go out. I came upstairs to light my candles and put a couple things away so I peeked in. I need to get back downstairs and have breakfast. One thing on this program is I NEVER miss one of my 3 main meals. TTFN Donna |
Michelle.....
Let me just address my good friend Michelle..... Being as that you made that statement, you must have not actually watched the race. Tony ran in the top 3 ALL day, and even led the race several laps until pit stops. Jimmie Johnson actually ran at the back of the pack all day and the ONLY reason he had a decent finish is because on the last round of pit stops, his crew chief only called for one can of gas in the car instead of the usual two. (They knew the rain was coming, so they were taking a chance by only filling the tank half full of gas so they could hop out in front of everyone else off pit row, hoping it would end in rain delay & they wouldn't have to refuel) I guess if Jimmie appears to do better because they're sneaky instead of actually working to win a race, then I guess that might make him better in some people's book.
Now reading the above paragraph, I realize it makes me sound rude. I don't want to appear that way....especially to you Michelle, who I love so very much...but I HATE Jimmie Johnson. :p |
CHICKIES
Oh my gosh:o you all are on page 2 of a thread and I havn't posted a darn thing!!! Shame on me!!! But I do love reading all the others. Well I was lurking over on Ebay lastnight, first time I actually bid on something and I got it!!! I got a WATP tape that you all keep talking about the 3 mile one. So tell me about it? Is it hard or what? I got it for $8.00 is that a good deal? I figured it was, it was brand spanky new in the package still unopened!!! Hoping it will keep me going and maybe I can change the bedroom around a bit and do it in there since Hubby and kids seem to have an edge on the livingroom tv and vcr. Hope everyone had a great weekend. Sorry about all the snow some of you have. We are gonna get ours tonight and into tomorrow they say now. Predicting only 3-6" for us, which is fine with me, I am so ready for winter to be done and over with. Only 30 more days till spring said the weatherman. Did you all watch the race? I did with my bil and sil and dh, well I have never sat through a whole race so figured I would, I was very disappointed that they called the race!!! I mean they had how many laps left 89? Someone else might have won it!!! So the man wins 2 million or whatever by rain default, I guess he is counting his lucky stars now. Maybe he would have won anyway? But what about the $$$ all those fans paid to see a race, boy I would be so mad, can't they do like rain delays and finish the next day or something? Maybe I need to watch more to understand the rules. Just like that yellow line call on one of the drivers, looked like to me that he got pushed below the yellow line so where the heck was he supposed to go? If he hadnt gone down there would have been another crash. Oh my look what you have done to me Tina!!! I'm race talking:) Think I got the bug??? Update: I got booted off line and luckily it didnt take this page away I was working on, since my post was long!!! Secret that I did, I finished my post off line then copied it and then came back online and it let me go get it on word pad and paste it back on here!!! Lifesaver!!!! |
Tina, Tina, Tina, what HAVE you done to our little group? We are all talking like grease monkies and race experts!
Actually, I think it is a hoot that a bunch of women are sitting around talking about Nascar! Baby girl, I am sorry your guy did not win. Of course, because of knowing his aunt, we were rooting for him too (Jack had a $5 bet with a guy at work too). Sandy: I wondered where you were. I hadn't heard from you in awhile. When it comes to mens' sports, I give up trying to follow the rules and just say, "hey is so and so winning or not?"  I would say the price of the tape was good. Did you or seller pay shipping? That could make it just an ok deal. My daughter and sil own a huge e-bay and internet business and she teases me because I get nervous bidding on anything. I almost won a bid on a videocamera a year or so ago, but there is something you can do that let's you pretty much get in the last bid and I have no clue about stuff like that. I think I am going to get my second walk in this morning so I can cuddle up and read this afternoon. I am so darn cold that I can hardly type. I have a roast to put in the oven with carrots and I am fixing my dh some yeast rolls (boo hoo none for me though as we ate out a lot this weekend and I do not need extra cal/fat) this afternoon too so I would like to get the second session over and done with so I don't have to go outside again. Being a federal holiday, there is no mail, so I won't have to stick my behind out the door again! I just do not do extreme cold or hot well. You ladies stay OP today and get them there exercises in! Oh, I forgot to add my motivational thought. To me this says it all that everything is in the MIND!: "It doesn't make any difference whether what you face is something that affects your work, your personal relationships, your sense of security, your appraisal of self-worth, or your appearance--the way you think about your situation largely determines whether you will do anything about it and what you will do." Dr. Arthur Freeman Always laugh everyday, it gets rid of wrinkles, bad temper, and indigestion besides you can't eat and laugh at the same time!           Donna |
LMAO..Tina you are too funny!! You are absolutely right! I never even turned on the race and only found the finish on the internet and I don't even know what Jimmie Johnson looks like! And don't really care!! LOL I'm not a NASCAR fan...my uncle is and he likes Rusty something or other...but for me...I'll stick to Partrick Swayze...he is my man!!
Anyway....I gotta get back out there and help john shovel...he shoveled four times yesterday and now we have 17 inches of snow out there even with 3 vehicles in the driveway!! So I'll be back to see who is around! TTFN Michelle |
I just LOVE all my friends....
It just absolutely cracks me up to come on here and read all the replys and see the race mentioned in just about all of them....:grouphug: I hope this is a good thing, right? :^: I was very dissappointed in the race...with the rain delay. :( I have to work every single Sunday and usually miss half the race. (Although sweet dh does tape it for me) But yesterday, I took 1/2 a day vacation, because I just couldn't miss the first race of the season and look what happens? :p I think it is a grand possibility that Michael Waltrip still would have won the race because he was pretty fast, but I wish it hadn't of ended when it did, because Tony ran in the top 3 ALL day and would have surely got a top 3-5, however.....I'll take a 7th place finish, seeing as year before last he was in a horrific crash (even worse than the one Ryan Newman was in yesterday) and last year, his engine blew up on the 2nd lap. :(
I'm sorry guys, but individual replies will have to be lightning quick today as we are SLAMMED at work! :yikes: Actually, I made that statement about 45 minutes ago and haven't been able to address you yet, as the phones have been ringing non stop. I will be back later. Love you all..... |
Hmmmmm... will she kill me for saying this ?? LOL
I hate to disagree Tina.... but .... from your post it sounds to me like this Jimmy guy out smarted your man. :o

Oops sorry 2cute..but Jimmie didn't win the race either..he just came in third...Michael Waltrip won the race!!
Geeeesh...Tina...you got us all talking about that darn race...what the heck are you doing to us girl...before you know it we will ALL be NASCAR fans!!! My little guy had a ball outside helping us shovel snow..well...he was shoveling it back into the driveway but he thought he was helping us...at some points he was doing it the right way!! You just gotta love the little guy for trying! He didn't want to come in...he was so bundled up in a sweatsuit, snow pants, a hooded jacket, a jacket, mittens, snowboots, and a hat. He was a waddling there!! LOL OK gotta get going on those last two assignments for business law! I got an A on the last two assignments for english comp II and I got a B+ on my final paper...I am psyched! And to top it off...I got a call from our regional manager and they are keeping our offices closed today...duh! Did they really really think we were going to risk our lives out there to open up this afternoon just to make a few collection phone calls?? I don't think so!!! At least not this chick or her girl were going in today! Enough of me for now...hope things lighten up for you at work today Tina... TTFN Love you guys! Michelle |
Duh... I feel stupid. I knew that Jimmy did not win. :o
But the theory is still the same. Save those points to get what you want in the end. He wanted the trophy. He STILL came in ahead of..... "others". Tina... you KNOW I am cheering for TONY because you love him. Go TONY !!!!! Now.... NO MORE NASCAR from this "sane woman". |
GREETINGS CHICKIES,
It's just starting to snow here in the central NY snow belt. We're only getting 4" - 9" from this one. A flurry. :D Hope they're right. I have tickets for the Music Man tomorrow night and have to pick up to elderly friends who are basically blind and who sit right in front of us. The snow's supposed to end here during the night. Picture this, right now we have about 50 wild turkeys at the bird feeders. Most are foraging seed from the ground, but there is enough old snow under the feeders that some of the turkeys just eat out of the feeders. It's reached the point where instead of reaching up to take the feeders down and fill them we reach down and lift them up. :) OP for the last 3 days. YES!!! About the race. TINA you've got me interested. I remembered it yesterday afternoon. Turned on the TV - No Race. :rain: How dare they cut it short??? I wanted to watch!!:bomb: Not much else going on. Finally got a printer for the laptop. Scanner next. anyone want to donate some $'s? hahahahaha It's snowing on the turkeys. What a sight! ttyl |
Heaven help us, Tina's has turned the group into Nascar junkies. Next thing you know, we will be leaving our spouses and following the drivers around as groupies! Can't you just see that? All those bodies just waddling around trying to latch on to our favorite driver and trying to stuff ourselves into a car thats door doesn't open.!  Speaking of that, did any of you see the Pepsi commercial where the driver tries to jump into the Pepsi truck without opening the door? FUNNNNNYYYY! I also noticed the Bud Light commercial taking a pot shot at women. Yeah, it was funny but why are women the butt (sorry about the pun) of fat jokes all the time?
Kat: I always loved little kids all bundled up in snowsuits looking like tiny Michelin men, waddling all over. He is obviously feeling much better. That's great! Hip hooray for you and your papers. When I went to college the first time I was 36. My Comp I class was taught by a graduate student and I swear we had the biggest bunch of dumb bunnies you have ever seen. I majored in English in high school and when the teacher found out I knew my stuff talked me into helping with the class. I just couldn't believe that almost half the class could barely read let alone write a comparison and contrast paper. Good for you keep it up! J-Ann: Have a good time at the musical. Hope the weather holds off for you. It must be lovely watching the turkeys. Tina: Here's hoping your work load slows down. How dare they keep you busy when you need to post! Toodle loo for now. Don't you all work too hard shoveling those driveways etc. Donna |
Amost forgot.
MICHELLE: I'll bet Andrew was adorable. To this day, and I'm 53 with 0 kids, I can still remember the smell of the wool hat and mittens, and my wet snowsuit drying on the hall radiator. I was the :queen: of the snow :angel:s. |
WARNING! This post does NOT contain any NASCAR references!
Donna, My Michelin Man is 46 years old...but he's still cute! You've gotten Michelle and I mixed up! She's the one with the little cutie and the school work...
J-ann...I hope you're able to get out to see, "The Music Man." My daughter and I watched it on TV last night, (new version with Matthew Broderick--very good!) I had forgotten how many good songs are in that show! Have fun! I know our blizzard down here is just another day to you up there...this fills me with a whole new respect for people who have to deal with this ALL WINTER LONG! Bless you my child. Speaking of snow...they're all out there, waiting for me to get my big butt outside to help. I'm going to shovel out a little place for poor Molly in the back yard...It's pretty funny watching her trying to find a place to "squat," if you know what I mean! The snow is past her shoulders, and she is not a lttle doggie! Gotta go put my booties on...Hi to everyone else... Geez the school just called...no school tomorrow and delayed opening Wednesday...too bad you can't see the cartwheels my son is about to flip when I tell him! see ya later... |
Kat: :o :o Man, I am on a roll. I made a reference to the Ark on another thread and said Moses instead of Noah! Sorry, disregard the cute comments. I promise I have no knowledge how cute your dh is in or out of a snowsuit!!!!!!!  It drives me nuts going back and forth to the posts. I am old and senile so what do I know? I can barely put two sentences together these days!
Michelle: Andrew is most definitely adorable in a snowsuit I am sure. Anyway, I do like little ones in snowsuits when they can't walk. It loses something on grown men I think! I am being sorely tempted this afternoon! I need words of wisdom and encouragement to keep me sane! I have a pot roast and carrots in the oven and yeast rolls rising and the smell is driving me crazy. I may have to go get some Vicks or Ben Gay or something and put on to cover the smell! Of course, that would ruin the romance that I have planned for dh unless he is into locker room smells, which I don't think he is. Brother the torture you go through just to feed your husband! I had to put a new avatar of me up. I couldn't stand the other one any longer. It is NOT me anymore! Donna: |
Donna don't feel bad...the other day I referred to Kat's husband, whose birthday is the same as my John's, as Thin's husband...brain farts are happening on a regular basis here!!
I have my last two business law assignments done now I just have to type them up and email them...so when I get done with that and get dinner started I will be back...in the mean time DONNA...DO NOT GO INTO THE KITCHEN!! TTFN Michelle |
Okay, far too much racing talk in here.
I jumped in to read posts and that was just about all I saw. Finished a report that I had due today, and had a few minutes before my husband is picking me up from work, so I stopped in. Sorry to hear about all the snow. Fortunately, we in Michigan are only probably going to get a few inches. Boy am I glad. Well, Monday's eating has been good so far. Exercise and dinner when I get home. Then early to bed for me. Last night being up to midnight doing reports for work, has really taken its toll on me today. Have a great evening. |
Just curious...why can't you have what hubby is having, Donna? Why deprive yourself? Especially with all the exercise you've been getting...I just know how I would react if I tried to deny myself something wonderful...I would go beserk trying to fill that need and end up eating WAY too much "good" stuff to compensate. I do not cook any differently for anyone else around here. As far as I'm concerned, low sat fat (not fat free), high fiber, lots of fruits and veggies is good for everyone!
Well, we're all dug out...for now...we had to dig through drifts as high as my hips! Did our driveway and sidewalks, then we did our neighbor's sidewalks, Please God, let it stop snowing before I leave for work tonight! So, what are you getting John for his BD, Michelle? I was going to sign us all up for Sailing lessons as his present. (He has been wanting to get back into it, after years of absence. I just found a course through the parks system, but I have to check his schedule...don't know if I can swing this with his crazy hours. I'm definitley getting him "Risk" for the computer...he's been a Risk freak for as long as I've known him. And maybe a scanner (but that's really more for me...hee hee) He's going to take some pics of the house and the snow, I'll prettyup and have him take one to post at MyFamily...of it comes out decently. catcha later... PS...I'm not wearing my glasses, so I can't really see all my typos, please bear with me! |
DO NOT POST HERE! GO TO "300+ And Ready To Try Again....#286"
See you there! :D |
