Possibly daft question

  • So you know how many women retain water before and/or during their periods and find that their weight stays the same or goes up at that time? And how some women get neither of these things happening? Both of those make sense to me, but what is with me definitely retaining water (squeaks of pain whenever I'm not wearing a bra etc.) while my weight merrily continues to drop at the same rate as usual? Pretty much every single cycle? I get less water retention than this when I've taken painkillers the day before, and on those days my weight usually goes up for the next day or so. I'm starting to think that my breasts are inflating with air instead!
  • I had to read your post after that enticing title!

Perhaps it just means that you would have lost more if you had not been on your cycle?? Not sure. Are you experiencing a consistent rate of weight loss?
  • Yes, that's what's so odd. There's a graph in my signature which also shows my menstrual cycle if you're curious. The weight loss has started to slow down recently as I'm near target, you may be better off looking at it from a bit earlier.
