Family Thanksgiving Weirdness
 

I was expecting something, but I was still a little surprised. I haven't seen my aunt and uncle since Easter (I started this journey in mid-April), so I figured they would notice. What I did NOT expect was my uncle to tell me that I'm hot! :eek: And I found out that my aunt keeps score. She told me that she still "holds the family record" - she lost 65 pounds once. She didn't keep it off, though, so what does THAT count for? :?::?: Not that it will matter for long - I should break her "record" by Christmas. :p

Thankfully, my cousins were less weird - they just congratulated my on my weight loss. :)

Families are...well... families.

Uncle's comment - a touch ewww.
Aunt's comment - a touch jealousy - but I feel for her! I hold my family record - twice! (not that I do keep score) but have regained it twice!

lol! Are we related? My uncle, by marriage has made some creepy comments over the years when I've lost weight, but in hind sight, I think he wasn't trying to be creepy, but rather help me to feel better about myself. Because really he's a nice guy.
As for your aunt, yeah definitely sounds like jealous. Isn't it funny how family can be so much more verbal with each other than they would be with friends! I would have said "I'd rather be at the top of my game now, then be retired with the family record" :D

Yes, I think my aunt was jealous. She told my mom last week that she was thinking about trying the plan I'm on, and she was asking me about it on Thanksgiving. But the whole keeping score thing caught me off guard. All I could come up with was "well, I'm almost there."

My uncle is infamous for his lack of filter between brain and mouth, and his desire for my aunt to be slim. I'm sure if she's showing interest in the plan I'm on, he'll be all for it.

Can't wait to see what they'll say on Christmas Eve! :p:dizzy::p

Oh yeah, and I tied her "record" today. :D
