Yes, and I was thinking I should start back up with charting my basal temps as well to compare the trends. If I recall correctly, temp is low before ovulation and high afterward. I definitely lose more weight in the second half of the month. But yes, that water retention is annoying. I am glad I know the pattern so I stay on plan and look forward to my post-ovulation whoosh.

(I charted my temps and fertility signs for years as birth control and then when trying to get pregnant, and it wasn't for religious reasons, it was because I preferred to avoid the risks of the pill. Anyone interested in more info should read Taking Charge of your Fertility - life changing book for anyone of fertile age.)

Sorry about that! I've got insane resolution on a big screen and I forget that not everyone does. Edited the post.

I had to share again. I took a huge nose dive this morning and I'm sooooo freaking excited!!! Water retention kills me!

I made a graph the other night, but keep forgetting to post it! My data begins with the start of my weight loss in January, and goes through to present. The uptick in June was an ectopic pregnancy and the resulting abdominal surgery, but other than that and my month-long hormonal stall in Sept/Oct, my weight loss seems mostly linear over time.

Thanx. :) I'm back up this morning. I'm trying hard not to let it get to me, I know I am retaining water as my period is due next week. But I am also PMS'ing and feel like crap today.

Juliana -- What software are you using for graphs?

I'm still trying to find one that will let me easily input years of data. I signed up for MedHelp but it won't let you go back more than 10 years.
I liked it since you could also show measurements and other data. I may use it for current stuff but would like to have one I can put historical information in.

I've done a couple of graphs involving curves. The first one has a curved target line to reflect the usual faster weight loss at first and slower weight loss later. The second has the weight loss line curving, with individual dots for the actual weights, so it shows trends better.

I started my period 3 days ago. Last cycle I lost 10lbs in the first week after it started, this time it seems to be the same. Damn that water weight messing with my head all month!

Now there's a nice-looking drop in numbers! If you're doing that as a spreadsheet, why don't you put in another column of data where you put the days for your period, and set them to another colour in the graph? You should be able to get your graph all joined up, and it would show your hormonal fluctuations nicely. I'd have a try at it myself, but I haven't listed dates for my spreadsheet graph, just highlighted the Mondays to help me orient myself when filling in the numbers, so I'd have trouble finding them. Anyway, I don't get hormonal weight variation for some reason.

I love the "sufferer of abibliophobia" thing, by the way. I presume it means "fear of being without a book"? I suffer from this malady to a mild extent (of course, I live in a house walled with books and rarely get out due to being ill, so I don't really need to contemplate the horrors of being away from books for too long), but my partner and best friend (who happen to have the same first name) always crack me up by the number of books they will put into their man-bags for even a relatively short journey.

No, it's just the one from FitDay.com. I wouldn't know how to do a graph myself! I'm really not computer savvy!

Abibliophobia is the fear of running out of reading material. I do have tons of books that I haven't read, and now that I have a Kindle there are almost millions for free on it. Gotta love the classics! I used to walk (wiht a wicked incline) while reading, but I'm currently taking a break from the gym because of my knee.
