Since you dont know them in RL, the answer is very simple to me! :) How do they know you are a mom and so much about you? I dont want to turn this around on you but maybe you should reconsider before sharing so much of yourself over the internet--especially since you have had the repeated history of less than beneficial experiences.

They don't know THAT much about me.
I see nothing wrong with people knowing my first name/age/# children.

They don't know my relationship status, last name, where I live, etc.
There's some information that's ok to share.

I'm really sorry you had to deal with immature adults. Unfortunately, there are A LOT of adult bullies out there ranging from message board bullies to work place bullies as well as "adults" in their 20s and up (bullying even occurs in nursing homes amongst the elderly).

I was bullied off of my local town's message board several years ago. I was an active member on it for 4 years and the "regular posters" became virtual friends. Then some new posters joined and eventfully the bullying started to occur. Online message board bullying is a very interesting thing due to the similarities of RL bullying. For example, if an online bully (who is a "popular/regular" member of the message board or group), puts down someone, then I find that most (if not all) the other members remain quiet for fear of being retaliated against by the other board members. It's a sign of weakness.

I find that online bullying occurs from people who may be pushovers IRL and use the internet as a means to take their aggression out behind the computer screen. In the end, it's an insecure person that hates his/her life, but would rather put someone else down than work on improving him/herself and their situation.
