Proud of Myself Even Though It's a Bad Day

  • I had a terrible day today. I happened to comment on FB that I was working on a project for my favorite client and mention how much I loved working with them. Not 5 hours later, I received a contract termination notice from them due to budget issues. This has been a terrible few months for me. I can't work outside the home due to health issues, but I am not "disabled," so I have to work and earn money. I do so by freelance writing and, until August, had a booming business. Google changed the way they rank websites and, as a result, many of my clients either closed up shop or cut back on their content publishing. I have lost thousands of dollars in income and now I don't even know how I'm going to pay the bills or pay for my upcoming wedding.

On the bright side, my first thought was "I really want Ben & Jerry's," but then my second thought was "don't eat your feelings." I did put a little extra shredded cheese on my chili, but I'll still be below 1300 calories for the day, so I'm not too worried about it.
  • Sorry about the rough day...Great for you on making the best choice! Sending you sunshine thoughts and BIG HUGS...
  • Dang, sorry you've had so many work problems lately. And definitely sorry you lost your favorite client.

But YAY for healthy, on plan food choices. You should be proud of yourself!!
  • mdeigal, you inspired me last night! I was wanting to eat away my bad day so I decided to check 3FC. As soon as I read your post I thought "if she can do it so can I".

I shut off my computer and went to bed...so, thank you!!!!

Glad to be of service! I have to be honest and say I did end up cheating a bit later on in the evening, but not because of the work issue and not so bad that I ate a pint of ice cream. My aunt was in a bad car accident last night, so we were at the trauma center until midnight. I hadn't eaten for hours and I was starving, so I had ONE taco on the way home. I'm not happy about it, but I think the circumstances were extenuating.
