I agree with the others, it's too early to date. However, it's an excellent time for friendship. Go and have fun with some friends, hon, and if you're short on friends, maybe join a reading group or something.
Some people start a weight loss journey when they end a bad relationship, and find that it helps them feel better about themselves. I did, although in my case it was a bad family relationship rather than a partner. I'm also really sorry to hear you're having such a rotten time of it. Breakups can be horrendous. If you can afford it, aromatherapy massages can be fantastic at this sort of time. I swear they helped me through a h*llish breakup I went through in my early twenties. |
I am so sorry you are going through this!
But think about your self care. Obviously your emotional needs take the front burner right now. Don't try to be actively losing. That's just piling on more stress. But DO try to eat nutritiously so you have energy to deal with all this. DO try to get some sleep. DO try to take care of you. For the most obvious of reasons -- YOU need you to. And your CHILD needs you to. Taking a time out for just a short month or two isn't going to stop the world. But it will do YOUR self care a world of good to just hit the pause button on as many things as your can so you can focus on your basics. Good nutrition, good sleep, good quality time with kid -- as you figure out your new normal and get ready to tackle the divorce process. Hitting the pause button on weight loss or dating isn't giving up hope or anything like that. It's taking new information on board, not spreading yourself too thin, and PACING YOURSELF so in the end you can be healthier and happier. Hang in there! hugs A. |
I wanted to extend a couple hugs.
Like others have said, you have plenty of reason enough to lose weight for YOURSELF. You have a young daughter to look after, so take care of yourself! I'm really sorry you're going through this hard time, but focus on caring for your body. You will be happy you stuck with your changes. |

Thanks so much girls for all the support and encouragement... i ALMOST binged today... instead i put it away and jumped on my elliptical for an hour followed by weights and a plank for 1 minute! :carrot: Hugs to all who gave me words of wisdom! I know I'll be okay and if anyone has seen Eat, Pray, Love starring Julia Roberts (great flick, i so recommend) A quote from that film:
"You don't need a man, Liz. You need a champion." I apply this to myself! :D Have a great Sunday girls.... here's to a great week ahead filled with positivity! :cp: |
