Default help please! need advice on TOM!

My menstrual cycle has been way off the last few months. I have been getting at least two a month. last month i had one normal one then on my second one in the month it last almost 3weeks! then I got one about 3-4 days after for anoth 21/2 weeks and now just barely on the 16th im off my period again.

Has anyone had problems like this with eightloss? or could this be more?

It sounds like yours has been pretty extreme- it's definitely worth a trip to the doctor to get checked out. What has your exercise been like? My cycle is really sensitive to cardio- and it's not like I do that much for it to have much of an effect (probably about 4 hours a week on average). It got a lot shorter (as in, used to be 30-35 days between periods, now is more like 25-30) and it's mostly significantly lighter than it used to be.

((((Jessica2231))) That is pretty extreme. My cycles changed when I got older back to where they were when I was younger, LOL! I am on the very edge of normal with 21*-28 day cycles (count form the first day of your period) When I complained to my doctor, she did test my thyroid because that could cause shorter cycles. But it was normal, and since this is on the edge of normal we didn't test any further.

There could be many things causing such a short cycle, I don't think weight loss is one (but your doctor could say different)

I hope you find a easy answer. And get relief for those cycles. It must be tiring.

*21 days is the shortest cycle in "normal" according to my doctor.

Dieting is renowned for messing with hormones, but the level you describe is beyond that, I think, although the dieting could be exacerbating whatever's going on. Check with a doctor, and while you're at it, get checked for anaemia, you must be losing a lot of iron with all that bleeding.
