Scale recommendations please!
 

Hi guys! I'm on the market for a good analog scale that is as precise as I can get, for as cheap as I can get! Preferably something $30 or less? But if anyone has a great scale that they love, any type or price, I'd love to hear about it!! :)

I've always stuck to good, old fashioned $20 scales. Like you said, the key is precision, not accuracy. If you spend a ton of money on a scale, you might get a very accurate one- meaning that it will be closer to matching what the nice scales at the doctors say- but even many cheap scales are precise (meaning consistent). All I care about is that consistency, because it means I can get a clear idea of how much I've lost.

Mine is a Taylor brand glass digital that I bought at Costco last year. What I like about this scale is 1) the numbers are big so I can read it even when I forget to put my glasses on, 2) I only have to step on the scale once, not twice (once to turn it on and then once to get the weight) 3) Easy to clean and keep clean and it's attractive. Down side, only measures by increments of 0.2.

I bought a glass top one from Amazon by EatSmart. It was around $25, and I love it. I previously had a Taylor, and you had to tap it to turn it on, and it would beep. Well, it started turning itself on and waking me up at night with its constant beeping, so that's why I bought the new one.

My new one is very consistent, and I think it's accurate as well-- shows me around 2 lbs. lighter than my doctor's scale and the scale at my diet center where I WI, but I weigh naked before breakfast at home, so that's about right.

I also like that the numbers light up when you weigh, so if it's dark, it's easy to see. I like the look of hte glass, and I don't have to tap it to turn it on-- it just turns on. I can repeatedly step on and off, and it will give me the same number. It measures in .2 increments.

For a cheap scale, I would definitely buy it again. The only drawback is that it doesn't measure body fat. I didn't much care because there's a body fat scale at my gym as well as my diet center, so if I'm ever curious, I can get that there. Also, I liked the look of the glass top, and you can't get that with body fat scales. I have heard that many home body fat scales aren't very accurate, either.
