You can give up now, in which case you will stay at your current weight or even gain more weight. Or you can continue with your weight loss plan, in which case you will continue to lose weight, and yes, you are currently losing weight. You may have the odd pause in the process, but you will be losing weight. Which do you prefer?

I went for a longer than usual run yesterday. I am slightly sore today. I am up 2 lbs. Running did not make me gain 2 lbs of fat. Water weight is a fickle beast and part of success is learning how your body responds to various triggers and accepting them as part of the normal process.

You guys were all right. Unfortunatly, it took me an extra day to figure it out, which I threw a emotional eating temper tantrum, but didnt blow it too bad. I thought this morning, this is ridiculous! I stopped smoking cold turkey, I cut out soda w/o much effort. I can totally do this! Hummmm....jeans that fit w/o my belly hiding the buttons vs a honkin burger and fries...ya, lets go for those jean fitting again. So, Im chasing after that cart again, trying to hop back on. Thanks for all the helping hands. I swear, i'll try and not bite em off again. :o
Happy Day all!!! (off to guzzle more water and shake my hiney to a smaller size!) |
I've stuffed myself for several days in a row.. STUFFED myself silly... To the point that pants with room were so tight, I couldnt button them. Well, did I really gain 10lbs of FAT in a few days to the point that I couldn't button my jeans anymore? No. My body was in shock from the food and retained water like nobody's business for about a wk or so. And then the pants began fitting again like normal. So point being, that one meal would NOT undo losing 4 or 5 lbs. It's not possible. It's water retention and it will disappear in a couple days.

I just have to THANK YOU for posting this. I have been on 3FC for a few months now, but I rarely post myself (except for replies). I was working hard for four weeks - calorie counting, watching every little thing I ate, exercising, etc... and it was slow progress, but I could live with losing one pound per week (because in the end, that' 52 pounds a year! ;) ). And then one stupid day. ONE SINGLE DAY, I spent on hard work sampling for my grad work and then indulged at the bar, and WHAM- gained back all the 4-5 pounds I just spent the last 4 weeks losing.
You, posting this, has shown me I'm not alone when this happens! AND all the replies are very relevant to me, as well... thanks for the encouragement, even if it was originally meant for yourself! |
Im so glad my post helped you too!!! This journey is made better knowing we're not alone, and we can all help each other out as needed. I feel better knowing Im not the only one with these issues, or that thought I gained 5lbs in one day. :o
We can do this!! It kinda sucks sometimes, but I really think its gonna be worth it as each goal is reached. Made better with new friends. |
As I was reading this thread I was thinking the same things that ELBS wrote. I really needed these words as well! Too many times I have just given up after only one bad choice and then beat myself up over it all. Hopefully we can keep encouraging each other through our journeys....and, yes, sometimes it really does suck! All the more reason to stick together! Thanks to everyone!
