Yesterday was a 'surprise' sort of scale victory, but this NSV is one I've been waiting and waiting for. And then the kiddo had to have a growth spurt and gain a pound! I thought I had gotten there yesterday, but he weighed in at 67.0 exactly and I was just shy of 66 pounds lost. Just so happens as of this morning, I have lost exactly 67.0 pounds with another 1.2 pound lost.
So... I have lost the same amount of weight as my 6 year old boy. Now... he's the size of an 8 year old and the weight of a 9 or 10 year old (and as you can see, he's not fat, just a very big boy... large bones like his Mama.) I'm average height and look how tall he is next to me already? he's not even 6 and a half yet!
But, there you go - 67 pounds off me and a 67 pounds copper haired boy.

Reason: typos everywhere
Thanks everyone. He's a big reason for the motivation to lose this weight. When I found out what bad shape health-wise I was in this past December, it freaked me out. I have to live long enough and well enough to at least raise my child! He was only 5 and a half when I realized the bad health state I was in.
berry: what a wonderful son, thanks for the pic. You look great, and I am so glad you feel well too. What a tremendous gift you are giving him and yourself.
I remember this exact moment for me! My son was only like 55 lbs, but after that I'd pick him up and be like "wow! i used to carry this much more weight?" i gained a few back that im now trying to lose. He's 67 lbs just like your son now. He's almost 10 tho, VERY thin (i have no idea how though, he eats like crazy). When I get down to 153 I'll get to have that moment again!
I actually chose a picture that was better of him than of me!
I have another son whose 14, nearly 15. Looks just like this younger one - just way taller and super skinny (6'1" and 135 pounds). Where the copper hair color came from I have no idea (my older son has it too). It's just gorgeous and I'm envious! My husband has black hair!
My kids are the light of my life. (But I'm so ready for them to go back to school this fall! )
that is a FANTASTIC picture! And congrats on that milestone.
I feel guilty that my 7 year old is outweighed by 20 lbs by your 6 year old, so I get to hit that milestone so much sooner! lol! But now that I have been inspired by you, I will definitely get a photo of it!
