  • I know they aren't the best for you... high sodium and processed. But they are so darn convient. I do try to prepare food in advance, but even so I still find myself eating a bunch of lean cuisines a week. I always round up the calories (if it says 260 I round up to 300 cals) b/c I find it hard to believe they are so little calories.

    Anyone else eat them? I love the pizzas.
  • I LOVE them. I usually use them to start off when I'm eating healthy to help learn portion control. Mostly to get my body used to the smaller portions at meals.
  • Yes! I like the Weight Watchers Smart Ones as well. I have a really hard time eating the right portions, so I eat mostly these. I'm kind of at a point where I'm stalling a little, so I might have to start cooking again to cut down on the sodium and carbs.
  • They're pretty darn convenient, and while most days I don't use them there are occasionally nights or afternoons that I really don't feel like putting in the effort to make something. So I keep a couple on hand for those situations.

    My favorite is the spinach, artichoke and chicken panini.
  • I don't them now because I'm doing a very low carb diet, but have definitely used them in the past. And even once I switched over to trying to eat a more whole foods, minimally processed diet, I still kept a couple in the freezer at work as a spare in case I didn't get a chance to make something for lunch.

    One thing I think they are really great for is retraining your body (and mind!) into recognizing healthy portion sizes. Yes, they are pretty low cal, and if you put them onto a plate, it would look like a much smaller amount of food than most people would serve themselves and consider a reasonable portion size.

    Another brand I really liked was Healthy Choice Steamers. I wasn't a big fan of Healthy Choice entrees overall, but a couple of the Steamers were really good, esp. the Grilled Chicken Marinara.
  • Love 'em/ They were lifesavers in the beginning, b/c I didn't have to stress about figuring out the calories in each meal. I ate them twice a day for 6-8 weeks until I developed a list of other meal choices that are just as easy, but less sodium, etc.

    I still have them on hand for when I am just so stressed and hungry, that I need to be able to pop something in the microwave quickly. The 310 calorie paninis are my fave!
  • They are really convenient and I like knowing the exact calories I'm eating instead of having to guesstimate... but after a while you get sick of eating Lean Cuisines.
  • I LOVE lean cuisine-type meals. Especially the mexican-style ones. As you said, they are not the best for you but I figure it is a heck of a lot better than what I was eating before. If lean cuisines are your worst food item I think you are doing pretty good. I also like lean pockets but you do not get as much food for your calories.
  • Glad I'm not alone! I love the pizzas, southwest style panini and chicken fried rice. I run out to get a bunch when my grocery store has them for 50% off.

    I usually make most of my meals, but whenever I'm feeling lazy, these are a lifesaver!
  • Always keep them in the freezer, one with a salad or veggie is perfect. I am not eating them now, because I am IP, but hubby grabs one once in awhile with a veggie. He likes them, but has to watch sodium, so he limits them.
    I think when you are craving mexican, the chicken suiza is great, also love the butternut raviolis. When on sale, you can't beat it!
  • They taste so good, but I'm still starving after 1! I have to eat at least 2 in order to avoid ripping my fridge apart looking for more food. It probably doesn't help that I only like the pasta ones though.
  • I used to beef them up with frozen broccoli like a PP mentioned- I would also eat a piece of fruit. One by itself was never enough! I don't really eat them any more, but they are very convenient.
  • I used to eat them a lot... my own version of Nutrisystem. lol I don't eat many anymore because I only really liked a few, but I always keep a couple in the freezer anyway.

    I pretty much only stock the spaghetti with meatsauce, though. Spaghetti is my favorite food of all time, but the Lean Cuisine helps me keep it portion controlled. I'll eat one sometimes as a "treat" meal.
  • PS. I use a lot of the pasta dishes as a sort of "salad dressing". I heat them up and pour it over 2 cups of plain salad greens. Especially the chicken fettucini. It makes a huge, filling meal for under 300 cals.
