  • I posted these on my blog today, but wanted to share with you all.

I have found that taking photos - in a similar pose every 20 pounds has been extremely helpful in showing me my progress. While seeing the downward trend on the scale motivates me, seeing the pictures actually SHOW me how things are improving. Measurements are too abstract for me. So is pant size. Pictures tell it all.

So, here are my pictures at beginning:

    20 pounds lost:

    40 pounds lost:

And now at 60 pounds lost (actually 63):

  • Wow! Just wow. What a transformation! You look so lovely. Congratulations!
  • Berry you look amazing. And I love that outfit in the last picture... young and summery. I loved that dress at the 40lbs mark too. You look great in reds. I know I said that before, but it makes you look happy. Awesome job.

Thanks. My t-shirt from Target (wrinkled as it was worn all day by the time this photo was taken) and my Goodwill Land's End Skort. Total cost of that outfit: $15.
  • You look great!!!! Congratulations!
  • Not only did you lose weight, you lost years. You look atleast 15 years younger now!

You know, that's what everyone says. In the beginning, I was in really bad shape in all regards.

Weight was 255. Blood pressure was 230/130 (I didn't know this of course), blood sugars were high. I had been having daily headaches for 3 straight months - all day every day headaches. Cholesterol was high and I would huff and puff just walking from my car to the front door. Oh, and my thyroid was barely functioning.

Now, my thyroid is controlled (I think - needs to be checked again), blood pressure normal and I'm off drugs for it too, cholesterol is normal from diet and thyroid control, blood sugars are normal and headaches gone. Plus I work out 5-6 times a week doing weight training and cardio (zumba and aerobic step for cardio, bodypump for strength training).

I've basically turned my life around. I definitely feel 15 years younger and I was lucky that I caught things before I did damage to my kidneys and heart - or DIED!
  • WOW!!
