Hey ladies & Larry! :D

Quick check in...haven't weighed myself but I've been doing a lot better. Today I'm coming in at 1400 calories, planning on a walk tonight with DH and the pups. I'm going to even attempt a run tomorrow morning before work @ 4am! Wish me luck! ;)

We got all moved in this weekend - everything went smoothly! We are about 95% unpacked. We need to unpack/put together our guest bedroom and that's about it. Not too bad! This weekend we'll be painting...

Anyways, hope you all are doing well! :D

Vixsin 07-18-2011 07:42 PM

Was able to get in that run after work!!! :yay: :yay: Did a solid 20 min run and some incline walking. I stepped up the incline while I was running today too. I run slow, so I think the new way for me to challenge myself will be to add a bit of an incline to my run/jog. It felt GREAT!!!!

Made the kielbasa/mac n cheese combo for the boy and he  it!! :) I stir-fried some tilapia with garlic, onion, and some Bragg's. I put it on a bed of cold broccoli slaw with a serving of blush wine vinagrette dressing. O........M........G!!!  LOL

Today gets filed in the WIN category!!! :)

It’s been an eventful day!! I dislike eventful days and nites!

I got to the field to pick peas around 0815 and remembered at approx. 0830 that my dad had placed antifreeze baited traps in the same field for raccoons. He has watermelons there too and the coons were pulling the melons, taking a bite, then moving to the next melon. I took River and she was running around—being herself—and she was in that field when I remembered the traps. I immediately rushed her to the vet, b/c I didn’t know if she had ingested any or not—unbeknownst to me that the test took 48 hours to return and initial treatment of ethylene glycol consisted of ETOH intoxication flushed with iv fluids for 3 days. So, basically I had to get her drunk and flush her kidneys for 3 days for the sale price of $2000 USD—UHM NOT!!! She weighs 55 lbs and the vet said since I wasn’t for sure if she had ingested any and she was showing no signs of poisoning, a few licks would probably not be enough to cause Renal Failure, but perhaps some renal impairment! I decided to get a Chem 6 just to check her Renal function and then I’ll follow up on Friday with another to see if in fact she had any damage!\

I was also stopped on my way to the vet b/c I had my emergency flashers on and ran a red light right in front of a cop! When he pulled me over, I immediately rolled my window down and yelled out of my Jeep, “Please hurry up!” He yelled, “What’s the emergency?” I replied, “my dog ingested antifreeze and I’m trying to get her to the vet!” His exact words were, “OH MY GOSH, hurry up, that’s terrible.” Then, proceeded to escort me to the vet!!!

DH said if that had been him, the cop would have pinned him to the ground, slapped cuffs on him, called 3 squadcars for backup, been on the news, and he would have heard:
“Bad Boys Bad Boys whatcha gonna do, watcha gonna do when they come for you!!”

He’s so dramatic!!!

Oh my goodness K9, that is horrible, but seems all is OK? I have been tempted with the antifreeze baited traps myself as I can't catch this darn groundhog who does the same darn thing, but I worry about a dog or cat wandering by, though none do, but dude, yes!!! One bite out of a tomato and then onto the next!

And you know... your husband is probably right. I've never gotten a ticket and neither has my mother in law even though there have been times we should. My husband has gotten them and he's a much more cautious driver than me and I think it's because guy cops give women drivers more slack, especially in things like you are describing.

K9 I am told that calorie cycling provides same amount of calories per week, in my case 1500 per day average for the week but 'tricks' your body by constantly changing daily calories. This is supposed to help prevent or break plateaus. I plan on trying it for a month to see if I like it or not.

Larry,

P.S. I sure hope your dog is OK and did not drink any antifreeze

K9Owner 07-18-2011 10:22 PM

As for myself, I am just completely wiped out from today. I didn’t have the opportunity to finish picking myself any peas, but I did manage to pick my mom three 5 gallon buckets—she had a total of 7 to sell.
I then went :swim: with the 5 yr old (my nephew) and then to Zumba :dancer: I really need a nap! :faint:

I am loving the fact that the latest MFP app on iPhone has the scanning ability now!! :carrot:

k9 - i facebooked you about the rhubarb

darius - JUST found your facebook message...dont know how in the world that got by me :dizzy:

welcome to the new ones and returning ones to the group!!!!

so i had to make a SECOND rhubarb upside down cake today LOL the first one was gone so fast it made my head spin! the kids loved it, i ate some, i packaged some up for SIL and i set aside a piece for the teenager...then DH came home and ate some, the kids had some more, and i saved the last piece for DH after work...and THEN DH pouted because there was only one piece left LOL! so i made another cake...

ended by day so far at 1253 calories, almost all of which was either cherries or cake *sigh* and 148 carbs, way more than i need....but thankfully my once a year cherry treat is almost eaten up and i will NOT eat any more cake...i found myself this afternoon having a VERY hard time putting down the fork and once i realized i was starting to feel out of control, i got kind of mad at myself and just STOPPED and i dont dare go back again for more

DH and son went for a walk...i have the entire house all to myself...i dont even know what to do LOL!

Got my first insult in years. Got to love group/mob mentality. I took my kids to the new Popeye's chicken (no I did not have any). Although I didn't participate in eating I did go up and get the food and serve it to them at their table. It was on the trip back that a group of 4 young men (17-22 I'm guessing) snickered then one said "look at that big fat a**." It's not the comment that bugs me, because I know it's big and fat (anyone who can see me knows) it's the smugness that they only feel when in a group. If they were alone they'd never have the gall to say something. I just kept walking shrugging it off so as not to embarrass my children.
I stopped at the store and bought me dinner (rotisserie chicken and some yummy cheeses) and now I'm settling down for bed.
I hope you all have a good night. :)

 oohh things like that burns my BUTT:mad: i dont recall anyone insulting me in recent memory but ive definitely turned to some of those young, punk kids before for other reasons and given them my BEST stern teacher look and told them "that is NOT respectful" and i've never had a single one back-talk me on that....

i once stared down a group of HUGE samoan boys and they actually LISTENED to me and it was "yes maam" and "we'll move along now"...i couldnt believe it LOL!

I was out taking a walk a couple months ago and heard "You're fat!" My kid wasn't with me, and I went back to say something. I couldn't find them though. I thought they were sitting in a car I passed but it must have been out a window. I knew they were just stupid kids, but it was still upsetting.
