Larry: congrats on the 2 pounds! And thank you for the suggestion about Stevia. i've had some in the house for a long while but never used it. I will try it in the next recipe that calls for Splenda.
alaskan: ugh about your sis's bf, i have in laws like that, not quite that bad but i feel for you
mamakat: wouldn't it be great if we could store some of the excess energy for those down days? i keep thinking that mid winter I'm going to need some of this current energy burst hehe. oh well, guess we just have to make the most of it while we've got it. I really love hearing how your lifestyle changes are benefiting your whole family. Very cool!
Under1Rule: welcome!!
zoodoo: the contents of your fridge sound yummy!
SMess:
bravo to you for still taking care of you, and also for being such a wonderful and caring daughter. I can't imagine how hard this all is for you but what a gift you are giving your mom by being there for her during this time.
Also, thanks for the tip on the tea
I'm not a regular tea drinker but I do have green tea in the house and also chaga that I make tea with so I will try those next time. I also keep Bragg's apple cider vinegar around b/c I find that often a painful tummy is caused by not enough acid instead of what might be thought of as too much.
LGW: congrats on the weight loss! Keep up the great work
Diana:
sorry the bday cake made you not feel good. Thanks for the info about sugar alcohols, I will check the low cal/fat sweet stuff I've been eating and see what's in there. I did have another piece of the mock cheesecake last night and my tummy doesn't feel great, but I also ate a very high carb supper and I'm tired, so it's hard to isolate the issue. But I will try stevia in the recipe next time and see if it makes a difference.
Yesterday was long and exhausting. Went up to help a woman with a video for her late husband's memorial and my computer was not acting right which made the whole thing stressful. I will get it sorted so she can have a rough draft by Thurs and a final by Sat. Got home late. Now to get my guys up so we can head out to the Imax to see the new Harry Potter. We are going to a diner for breakfast first.
Friends who's uncle it was that passed away fed us last night. Spaghetti with meat sauce and cheese filled breadsticks. I ate a small portion of spaghetti, a bigger portion of sauce, and 1 breadstick. I also had 2 or 3 shout outs girl scout cookies. Calculated everything as best I could when i got home and carbs were high, but overall it wasn't that bad. And my bs was still in the 140s this am so I am feeling pretty good about things. And "unofficially" I'm down another 1.5 pounds which brings me to an even 10 since I rejoined 3FC
Today I will make decent choices at breakfast, and forego popcorn and candy at the movies, but I am going to sneak in some nuts to munch on. So probably will be a higher fat day today, but will still be a lot better than most movie days.
Happy, healthy Sunday to all
Jen
