Portion Control

  • Portion control has really been the biggest help to me as far as weight loss. Here's the thing though- I've noticed that the actual amount of food I need to feel full is incredibly small. Like, when I stop at wawa for a sandwich... I get kids size and I don't finish it. This is presenting a lot of difficulty for me in grocery shopping, as I live alone. Does anyone have any suggestions here? Restaurants/ products that keep well?
  • I freeze a lot of stuff. I make dinner and freeze leftovers in individual sized containers. (Then I can grab that for lunches, etc. instead of lean cuisines) The only thing so far - I have found that potatoes don't freeze well. Baked, crock pot, mashed, etc. They all come out grainy-like. Yuck!
  • How much of your food are you cooking yourself? That should solve the problem of making the right amount, and if need be you put the leftovers in the fridge or freezer. Eating out is harder, but I don't know how much you do that, how much you really have to do that, and how far you could get around it by bringing food from home.
