How Cheesecake Taught Me A Valuable Lesson
So my grandmother decided to celebrate the 4th early by inviting our immediate family to lunch today. The BF & I ate very clean, and stayed well within our calorie range. Then my grandma pulled out the cheesecake. CHEESECAKE. I told myself I didn't want it, which was a lie, and I didn't need it, which was true. Then the BF went and grabbed a slice. I eyed the cheesecake again thinking, well, it can't be that bad. Maybe just a small piece. I grabbed a slice of my own, devoured it with glee, and overall didn't feel too guilty concerning the encounter. Until I got home. "Eight HUNDRED calories," the BF informed me after looking up cheesecake online. I couldn't believe we just ate 800 calories of cheesecake! :yikes: That put me way over my limit for the day, and meant I could literally eat nothing for dinner. Dreading, fearing, that I had truly dived head-first off the weightloss wagon, I texted my grandma trying to hold on to some shred of hope that maybe it wasn't as bad as I thought. Please, I pleaded, please only be 400 calories or so. My grandma got back to me instantaneously and was very amused at my panicked state. Apparently it was Jello No Bake Cheesecake, only 220 calories per slice. :yay:
Moral of the story:
Never eat dessert at grandma's house, no matter how innocent it looks.
It's not worth the stress, and next time it might actually be 800 calories! :faint:
