The thing we all forget is that when we were doing our uncontrolled eating, we didn't gain steadily either--I know I would stay at the same weight and was thankful about that--UNTIL I would gain a sudden bunch of pounds and be dismayed. That was the pattern then. So when I've been losing, I saw the same pattern; as others have said here, it isn't linear up or down.

The main thing to remember is that you are eating healthier, and sooner or later the weight will come off. You are in control, and that is something to be proud and happy about. You WILL get your reward one of these days when you get on the scale and you weigh less.

I know how you feel - I was stuck at 184 lbs for a MONTH! It was awful, but you do break through it if you really try.

Are you drinking water? Keeping hydrated is amazing for the body, because your innards might be holding onto water that's so scarce! I'm terrible at drinking water, but I really need to!

My weight loss isn't linear either. I excersize daily and never eat unhealthily and yet I stay the same for five days and then lose one pound over night.
I do not think it can really be predicted what your body will do.
It has to do with so many things...

Weird. oh our wonderful bodies. thank you for the info.

I didn't read all the responses but just in case no one has mentioned this yet:

-Take measurements, take measurements, take measurements! I went through a seriously long plateau that last something like 2 months but I was losing inches like crazy. I've started to lose again but S-L-O-W-L-Y. However, the inches are still going. Apparently my body needed that time to change it's composition a bit.

-Like others said, daily weighing is great (I do it too) but you need to get used to your own body's fluctuations. I just never lose during TOM or when I'm ovulating. I also weigh more the day after lifting. I now know to expect those things

-Stick to your plan like glue. If you were having a real plateau I'd give other advice but like others said that would be more in the 1-2 months range.

Good luck!

Good for you! I've found measuring on a regular basis to be a real confidence booster for me. For whatever reason my body rather lose inches than pounds. I'd definitely choose it that way given the choice. ;)

Hang in there! It's easy to get frustrated, but you're doing so well, by the sounds of things. Slow periods are bound to happen. Just keep fighting the good fight! :D
