YAAAA!! I can add attachments! This first photo is me in 2008 before back injury BELOW GOAL and running in the c25K race--actually I wasn't racing, just coaching in the event. The second one is me and my K9s--River (lab/pit) and Jaxon (the "foxy" rescue)--this past December!
K9 Look at your legs while running! They look great! But, you look great in the other photo too, but I understand you want to be thinner. It's perspective, I guess... at 275 for my high weight. I would be THRILLED to be your high weight (which might not even be possible as I'm built really big).
Lindsey, you are looking awesome! I see a huge difference from the last time you posted and asked what we thought, your love handles are melted away! Way to go!
K9, nice pics! Beautiful dogs!
Larry, just read you are in the hospital. Sending good vibes your way and hoping for good test results too!
surfergirl, halfway to your mini goal is awesome!
I got my workout in. Ran 2 miles and walked 1. Felt pretty darn good for not running in over a week. We did a lot of walking, stairs and hills on vacation though, so I don't think I am totally out of shape So that was the first thing to conquer. Now the eating, I think I will hit the fruit/meat market today and do the other groceries tomorrow. Third thing is water, and I am just starting my first 32oz jug now, oops. I will try for 64 today and do better tomorrow.
The power cord broke on my computor so I am using my son's computer.
My Cath test was not so good. I have 66% blockage in the main heart artery and 85% in a side artery. No heart damage yet My heart stopped during the test and they had to use the paddles to restart it. I am scheduled for open heart surgery Wednesday morning. I will have 2 bypass's performed and will be I am told about a month recuperating.
My cardiologist said I was really lucky that I had the cath done when I did because my blockage is known as the widow maker
Still following my eating plan and the nurses are amazed
I will be in contact some time later this week when I am able.
LarryH Holy Moly Larry... and just think how much harder it would be to recover if you were at your top weight? or not exercising?
My thoughts are with you and wishing you a painless and quick recovery.
My heart surgeon here at the hospital said that since I had lost this weight I should recover very well from the open heart surgery. He went on to say that 300 pounds seems to be the upper limit for a good recovery and at my former weight I might not have survived. WOW!! Sure gives me somthing to think about.
Diana: Did I remember you say once that you don’t count the calories from your coffee? Do you put anything in it? I was just wondering if I need to count mine or not. I put two truvia and 1 splenda mocha flavoring (all SUPPOSED to be calorie-free) and a splash of milk. I was thinking the only real calories were from the milk. What do you think? BTW- I love the Oikos Greek Yogurt. Thanks for the recommendation.
Berry: Sorry to hear about your cold! Don’t be ashamed of making yourself a higher priority. I spent too many years questioning my worth and I am so proud to be finding the person I think I should have been all along. Get a NEW bike!
K9: That’s funny about the ticker. There is also another poster that I see from time to time that has mine! Great minds and all! Thanks for the concern over the shins… but I am hoping they are better tomorrow. I am resting today. Are you a Dr or nurse??? Zumba in the black lights sounds fun. My spin class is done with black lights. I like being anonymous!
Roadbiker: The pattern of carrots on your long post was HILARIOUS! Thanks about my 5K, too. One of my friends wants us to do one together… but, I’ll have to train better… these shin splints are killing me!
AMKRC: Congratulations on joining the gym. It is good to keep an incline on the treadmill and 3.0 was about what I started at but just a 1% incline. Try to go faster each time you go. Make sure you go to the gym everyday and get into a good gym habit! Try the elliptical, too. It is addictive and also if your gym has spinning class… it burns TONS of calories. I am a bit of a gym rat… I love my gym.
Diana and dianaLA: I was up this morning too. I think this morning just shouldn’t count! DianaLa, I haven’t tracked my food since Saturday. I guess I have to do better too. It doesn’t mean I have been off plan- but it is always better to track it!
Shells: Glad to see that you are back and that you had a good trip!
Novel: I should have started the C25K with you. I want to do another but I can’t start training yet. I am still recuperating from my first. It was so exhilarating, I too, think I should find the runner in me. Then we could do a 5K together when we are both 140! PS- I’ve got to throw that whipped cream away!
JO! YAH for you! I am so happy you are back!! Did you have tons and tons of fun??? How’d your weight hold while you were gone?? Can’t wait to hear more. What was the #1 thing you did? And you got right back to your workout. GOOD FOR YOU!
Vixsin: you were down this morning… I think you were the odd one out then! Good for you!
Lindsey: Your pics look great! You are SO SASSY in the 4th pic! Congratulations!
Larry: I will be praying for you to have a speedy recovery from heart surgery. What a blessing you lost the weight… it will help your recovery so much!

As for me I am taking a break from the gym. I went this morning but since my shins and calves still hurt and something in my hip, too my trainer MEASURED me instead. Since January 4 I had lost 20.5 inches… 5 around my waist and 3 on each thigh! He was REALLY REALLY proud of me and I felt good, too. Then we did 50 crunches- UGH! But, he wants me off my legs today so that I can spin and workout as usual on Thursday. I didn’t realize that 5K was so hard on my legs… I guess I should have practiced more.
Today I am trying to stay light on the calories since I am not working out. I hope I can come in under 1200... I need to log onto livestrong.com and start recording. I haven't done that since friday!
Larry! My girlfriend just had her third heart surgery, she was born with a heart condition. Her open heart surgery went well. Hospital stay about a week. I am amazed how wonderful these doctors are! You will be as good as new in now time.
Berry; Feel well!!
Lidsay; your shape is just like mine! You motivate me,'cause I want that waist of yours
More personals later.....
I finally dragged myself out and walking. My funk last week totally demotivated me...I literally had to force myself out there. Now I am feeling happy that I did
I have spent 4 hours already dealing with my mother in law's curtains. OMG!!!! Because she didn't like anything else except those that needed hemming AND they were so stiff, we (me) added grommets. I haven't done her bedroom curtains yet either. I'm going to end up spending 3 days doing her flipping $20 a pair curtains!!! (8 panels). If it wasn't too late to return, I would have said, "no thank you" but she's well past the return date and I have to finish it up. All because she knows I know how to sew curtains... Yes, but EIGHT PANELS?!?!?!? for four windows. GRRRRR>>>>>
And yes, I can tell I'm totally PMSing. I think my visitor is due tomorrow.
Edited to add: Plus, I'm plain HUNGRY!!! I've already eaten 1000 calories today and only have 500 left. I feel like I could eat a whole deep dish pizza! Pizza... shouldn't have said that word because that sounds so good. But, leftovers tonight.
Edited to add again: I ruined one of the curtains... now I need to buy a new panel. OMG!!!!

Oh no Larry!! That is scary!! You will certainly be in my thoughts and prayers!!!!!
LARRY: OUCH!!! This is NOT the end of the world, although-u may feel like u have reached the end afterwards--esp, considering the all of possible meds u will be on after the surgery. However, if I could give u one piece of GREAT advice b4hand, it would b--GET UP, GET MOVING, AND use the Incentive Spirometer as soon and as often as u can!!! It is unrealistic to think that after a surgery of this magnitude, u will not experience pain, but the sooner u get out of bed and the more u use that spirometer, the better off u will b in the long run! Praying for u
Stacygee: I am a cardiovascular RN. I have been nursing for 7 yrs--5 as a heart failure specialist. If u ever need anything for muscular type pain in ur legs, arms, back, etc..I'll give u the name of the product I use--like Bengay or Icyhot, but so much better. U can get it off Amazon--not sold in chain shops like WalMart.
Berry: Ur too sweet 4 words!!! But, even an extra 20 lbs is hard on me. I know if I don't get a handle on it NOW, I'll just keep gaining. That's how I got to 160. One day I was 150..then I said, it's ok--no big deal, then I was 155...then 160----u c the trend???? Too many , takeout, and eating out!!
Jomatho: Thank u!! Instead of humans for babies, I get the privilege of raising K9s!!!
Linds: Org. from MS, moved to TN for abt 10 yrs, now back in MS. Not so Southern, however. I try to keep the ya'll at bay
Stacy - Thank you! I was going for sassy! Congrats on the inches! That is AWESOME!
Sum - Aww, well thank you!
Berry - Damn, pizza does sounds good. Specifically a deep dish...
K9 - Where in TN did you live? I'm in Clarksville. DH was in MS (Biloxi) for a bit in the Air Force...I visited probably about 4 years or so ago. MS is southern to me!
