My impression:
You are sort of infatuated with your body right now. It's the size/shape/size you always wanted and you love it. That's great, but it makes you more invested than you ever have been in how it looks. You're obsessing now, because you actually feel like you have something to lose, if you were to gain weight, or lose control. Picture it this way. You go out on a date with a guy and he really likes you . . but your just doing the date thing as a favor to a friend. You show up, dressed okay, but don't sweat the small stuff. You're not really emotionally involved so even though it's nice, but you don't leave with your heart on your sleeve and begging God to let Him call you later. He does call though and you see the guy again, because he was nice the first time and you actually enjoyed it. This goes on for a few dates and you find yourself getting more and more interested in the guy. Slowly, the tables turn and your heart is WAY wrapped up in this guy. He still likes you, but all of a sudden you start reading things into every action he makes. If he doesn't text for a day, has he found someone else? If he doesn't answer when you call, is it because he is talking to another girl?? My point is, the guy is no different from the first time you went on a date with him BUT you are. You are invested more, and that alone can make you miserable, even when everything else around you has basically stayed the same. I think that's the case here. You've fallen in love with your body (in a good way) but you are also having to accept the pressures that come along with that too. You're invested in making sure you stay looking this good, and that brings about the possibility of failure, which is scary. Just come to grips with it, and face that you can do this. You are very capable of it. Don't overthink it, and learn to relax. It's your body. You got it where it is, and have every capability of keeping it there. You have the power over yourself. |
Emotional eating is about replacing the binge/eat with something else...healthier. When you want to binge- go for a walk, exercise, run, call somebody, journal, take a bath.....anything to replace the need to eat. It's simple as long as you dedicate yourself to the process !
