I have to agree with kaplods. There was no reason for your co-worker to tell you about the gossip at all. While I can understand a sentiment from an overweight person that others are "starving" themselves, ( if confronted, who can blame her for being in self-defense mode ) its the colleague who then repeated the conversation who is the gossip. Doesn't deserve your time or energy.

I totally agree with this! Congrats on your success and hard work and do your very best to rise above the naysayers - I realize that's often easier said than done, but I am guessing that she is actually the more frustrated one. Too bad she isn't open-minded enough to learn what worked for you; instead she wants to hear what she wants to hear, and I'm guessing that will continue to look for a magic solution that doesn't require making any changes to her current lifestyle.

1. who cares what the other teacher thinks about your eating habit. She can bite you. You're skinny, she's fat. Proof of who's doing the right thing.

2. Why did the other teacher even need to tell you about it? Sounds like to me she's stirring it up. I hate when people do that, then want to gloat because they defended you. Sounds like she needed some type of approval.
