My non-scale pledge

Like the NSVs, what program-related pledge/resolutions have you made that are not to do with what you eat or exercise you do? I had concentrated so much on those two aspects that I forgot about anything else, so I made myself a promise to stop wearing giant clothes. I've always bought a men's large and when I made myself try on all the sizes I came away with... extra small. Oops. No more tents.

good one

I think we tend do to that hide under/behind things. My pledge is if I walk by a mirror and see myself I will say to myself what a beautiful woman :carrot: what I usally do is think what a fat cow! Power of positive thinking!

To indulge in the more feminine pursuits of regular hair appts. pedicures, manicures, make up, etc.

I'm surrounded by men, married to one, and work with 2 and a lot of our clients at the veterinary hospital are men with cows etc. and I live on a farm. The dress code is jeans, t-shirts, etc. So most days I look like a slump.

Great ideas, girls!! I work at a hospital, so scrubs it is at work. And on my off days I'm so accustomed to just schlepping around in whatever I grab -- none of it even remotely attractive/stylish and most of it ill-fitting. I'm also in a bad habit of just throwing up my hair in a clip and wearing very little makeup. I'm embarrassed to admit I don't even shave regularly all the time. :o FRUMP!

I did go and buy myself some makeup a couple weeks ago -- even lipstick! I just finished exercising, and I think I'll go up and take a hot shower, SHAVE THOSE LEGS, put on some nice lotion, do myself a pedicure, and put some make-up on. I don't have any place to go on this lovely day off, but why shouldn't I feel pretty -- just for me (and my ever-patient hubby when he gets home)!?

Thanks for the inspiration!

Rose, I don't know about you, but the style when I was in HS was to wear oversized men's shirts! :dizzy: I still fall back on my old stand-by jeans and a sweatshirt. I LOVE my college sweatshirts. They're XL and because of the style back then XL was gigantic, and I was tiny. Put it this way...these shirts fit just fine all the way up to 235 pounds. And now 80 pounds down, I'm still wearing them. I want to be buried in these sweatshirts.

BUT, the styles today for women are actually quite flattering. I love the new modern cut shirts. They really accentuate my waist and make me feel very feminine. You might give them a try. ;)

What non-sale goals do I have in mind right now? I guess the only one that really comes to mind is running a 5K at 6.0. I ran 1.5 miles yesterday at that speed.

My real goal is scale related. :( I really want to get to goal already and go shopping!

Mine is to throw away the saggy-bottomed jeans (once I actually fit well into the few pairs waiting in my dresser.)

Wear nicer clothes. When I was at my highest, putting on clothes and seeing how tight they were just made me so frustrated that I never felt or looked good in my clothes. I didn't want to buy bigger sizes but nothing looked good either when it was that tight.

Now that my clothing sizes are going down, I want to wear clothes that fit and make me look good. I want to get the compliments on my fashion sense, I want to have a "look" that is exclusively me.
