Smile Good Evening!

This thread is on fire! It's so encouraging to see a great group of supportive people.. not to mention motivating!

2feelbetter, I also love water aerobics! You have reminded me that it is such a great place to burn some calories while having fun in the water. I should take some classes again.

Roxanne, Perhaps the title sounds better than some may think the actual product is. That being said though, I love it! Melt 2tsp of honey with 2 tsp of peanut butter in the microwave. Mix thoroughly with 20gm soy protein powder and tsp of raisins. Form into a bar shape, wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate.

Rita, thanks! I thought I was nuts to start just before Christmas but I made up my mind that if I could get through the holiday while trying to be healthy, I could get through anything!

Shellsbrood, I have a 22 ounce water bottle that I make a conscience effort to have one bottle gone before noon, a bottle between lunch and dinner, drink one at dinner and sip the last one down while hanging out in the evening. It takes some getting used to, but once you get into it.. it'll be easy for you too!

Stacy, thanks! And I'm sorry you had a rough morning. Opening up to your trainer was not a moment of weakness, but strength. You are doing the best you can to move past those feelings of being a quitter. You should be proud!

Lindsey, I'm following a meal plan so I can't take much credit! LOL But thanks anyways!

Diana, the majority of the salad is broccoli, with celery, sliced grapes, grilled chicken. Tbsp of light mayo, 1/2tsp. curry powder, 1/2tsp. vinegar and 1/2 tsp honey. Oh yeah, sprinkle with tbsp sliced almonds. Delish!

Hello to Rachael, Shenanaganize and Wednesday!

Shenan: It definately counts! lol when I do my clinical days you can bet I count that! I like your dinner idea by the way!

Wednesday: I told my SO not to bring anymore macaroni and cheese home until I get my eating under control! lol

Shells: Glad you are feeling better

Lady: That actually sounds really good. I am going to have to try it! Thanks for sharing that recipe. I have a question...with drinking that much water are you up and down all night have to go to the bathroom? that is the worst for me about drinking anything after dinner. I will be up and down all night!

Debbie: How did you do today?

Our dinner here tonight was a leftover night. I cleaned out the fridge so we didn't have to deal with them anymore. I went over calorie budget about 400 calories but I think my budget could handle it today after such a long workout.

Good Morning

I weighed this morning and I am back to my ticker weight. I got to that original low on Christmas morning and then we went out of town for the holidays. I bounced up a little while away, but now I am back.

shenanaganize Hi and Welcome!

LadyLai That recipe sounds awesome! The last time I made a curry chicken salad, I used plain Greek yogurt instead of mayo. Have you ever tried that? My recipe needs tweaking because I used too much curry.

Shells Glad to hear that you are feeling better. You have had a heck of a time. How about the little ones, are they doing ok?

Well up 1.2 this morning. I guess that goes to show that a small mcD's fry, a few hershey kisses, extra diet coke, and random snacks does now cause you to lose weight. I also didn't work out.

Today is a new day and my goal is less diet pop, more water!!! No sweets!

LadyLai--It's true. I've been around since Sept and I simply love this group!! Thanks for the water tip. I have got to get disciplined in my water intake.

Roxan--Great job on the long workout!

Diana--They are all doing better too. Thankfully! It has been a long winter so far.

I had a new low today! Only 8 more pounds and I'm overweight!! So odd to be excited about that. Only 11 more pounds and I'll be in Onderland. I'm soooo excited!! I never thought I'd get this far. I looked back at some of my intro posts and I remember despairing that I wouldn't lose anything and be stuck at 261 forever.

Anyway, off to clean. My house is a MESS!

Niki4184 Today is a new day. Maybe make 1 small change at a time. It won't be so difficult to make the lifestyle change.

Shells Congrats on the new low!

Good morning everyone! I had a better day yesterday, eating wise. Still have to work on getting the exercise in. I work from my home, so I can't even employ tricks like parking further away and using the stairs. I am going to try scheduling time on the treadmill, just like I schedule everything else. Hopefully that will help!

Congrats to everyone doing so well. Have a great day!

THANKS to everyone for all their kind words.

stacygee-i always find that activities with my friends revolve around drinking...and that is something that is very hard for them to change, even though we always say we want to.

Morning everyone! Still feeling punky, I have a bit of a chest cough this morning, but it's productive, and on monday my cough was pretty calm by the time I went to the gym, so hopefully, I can make it through my workout without scaring anyone off... Plently of water, and a halls drop in my mouth for the slow stuff, and I should be fine. I definitely have a ton more energy this morning, and guess what?! I'M HUNGRY! <-- funny how exciting that is since I'm here to lose a little weight, LOL. But after being sick, I'll take it!

Great job to the rest of you, it's exciting to see those scales going down again isn't it?

Shellsbrood, congrats on getting closer to your goal! I'm cheering for those 11 lbs for you!

RMC, have fun with your treadmill! I have mine facing the tv, so I can get my walking in while watching my shows, You'd be surprised how fast it goes! Of course with our house a mess, and the tree up, no treadmill for a while, but oh well, thats what the gym is for!

Andejean: I am an avid scrap booker. I actually even owned a scrapbook store about 5 years ago. Still love scrap booking and I am almost done with my 2010 album which I have never been done this early before!

Shells- Thank you so much for the kind words. It really meant a lot to me… I think I am doing good and then I have an emotional day. Glad you are feeling better! Also a new low for you! You are just trucking right along!

Lindsey- I am trying not to quit this weight loss journey. I know I can’t. Thank you for the reinforcement.

Rachael: I think steak is a great meat to have. I eat beef… but not potatoes (mainly b/c potatoes are best smothered in butter and cheese!)

Shenanaganize- welcome. Just jump right in and all of a sudden you will feel like you have a team of people cheering you on!

Roxanne- thank you for the support… it really is helpful

Ladylai- Thank you for what you said… I did feel like it was a moment of weakness… it is like you read between the lines to decipher what I was feeling. I try to hold things in so much- but, sometimes I feel so lonely or like there isn’t an adult for to me to confide in and he was there…

Diana- Glad you have rebounded from Christmas. That is great! And didn’t take long at all!

Niki4184- I try to stay away from McD’s at ALL COSTS! Better luck today to you!

Rita- glad you had a better day! I hope you can schedule in your workouts! They really make me feel better!

Novelista- It is hard to change. I was talking to my trainer b/c I am going gambling next weekend. He said if you are going to drink beer opt for Coors Light or Michelob Ultra. Or hard liquor in a diet soda or or clear mixer. I’m a beer girl myself so when I go to the Casino I am going to opt for the michelob Ultra. Even today a friend I met at the gym asked me to go to lunch. It is so counterintuitive to people trying to lose weight. So then I suggested a health food restaurant that I have been curious about. Hopefully I can stay on plan!

Yesterday I think part of my emotional fart was the fact that I donated a CARLOAD of “BIG” clothes to Goodwill. I got in a bit of a panic about it. My thinking is that if I don’t have the clothes here I won’t let myself “gain back”. I had a bit of a panic attack… I thought I might should go back and ask for them to be returned. If I gain this weight back and have to buy NEW FAT clothes my husband will KILL me! He isn’t minding so much the smaller clothes… but I got rid of SO much! I just can’t quit this and I can’t gain it BACK. I just can’t QUIT!

Plan for today:
Kashi GoLean for Breakfast
Spin class and ab work at the gym
Lunch at Eden café (supposed to be health food)
Dinner my extraordinary salad that I love!!!!

Holy cow this thread is moving fast!

I didn't stop by here yesterday 'cause I was moving more furniture. In the past few days I have moved my son's room into my daughter's room, and rearranged HER room so they now share. My son's bed is a full-sized, solid hardwood captain's bed with drawers mounted under both sides. It's a PITA to move. In his old room, I put the kids' toys, my desk, printer and a dresser. I organized it so I can simply move my laptop over and bring out the sewing machine. The dresser has all my fabrics now, as opposed to the totes I was using as storage before. I have room for all my craft stuff now! I can't wait to start! It literally took me all day to finish organizing and rearranging. The kids have a lot of play items like a kids' desk, pretend kitchen etc. and now they have room to play and stay organized as well. I bought and put together shelf/storage units for their smaller toys and narrowed their toys down to 2 totes plus the storage shelves. I was soooooo tired when I finished. I barely dragged myself into the bath and then to bed after. LOL

I haven't weighed myself or anything at all today. Kids were lagging before school and I've been cleaning the mess left in the kitchen for me. LOL

I've only managed to eat 5-6 almonds and drink a cup of 60-cal hot cocoa, so I'm going to get off here and make myself a proper meal. I'll have to catch up! Y'all are a chatty bunch!

Diana: Congrats on being back to your ticker!!

Niki: A new day means a new beginning. That is the best thing about the diet, we can always start fresh!

Shells: That is so fantastic!! You inspire me!

RMC: Exercise was the hardest thing for me to incooperate at first. I had to find something that I love doing and then do it. Hence the water aerobics. I also have started enjoying hiking (when the weather isn't bitterly cold or snowing that is) I am looking forward to warmer weather. I am going to go hiking with my dogs and take some pictures. It is just a matter of finding what you like to do.

Ande: Glad you are feeling better. You are braver than me, when I am sick I don't work out

Vixsin: Your perseverence is wonderful. I admire that in you!

Stacey: It is hard when we make ourselves into someone else. We have to adjust our mindset into who we are but you are doing wonderful. You have come so far. :hugs:

I woke up this morning and did my Yoga again today. Second day in a row. My idea is to wake up and do it every morning. I had to laugh because the dogs decided to stand on the balance board while I was doing it and totally throw off my center of balance. It was funny.

I was going to go to morning water aerobics but its snowing and I refuse to drive first thing in the morning if it is snowing so I will go after lunch and do an hour of laps and an hour of water aerobics.

Here is my plan for the day:

B: special k bar and mandarin orange
127

L: grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup
351

D: roast, potatos and carrots
881

Total for the day: 1359

Exercise planned for the day
Yoga: 12 minutes (done)
Lap swimming: 2 hours
Water aerobics: 1 hour
Total 3 hours and 12 minutes

Good morning all

Today is going to be a little crazy. We have an exchange student coming from Brazil to stay with us for a couple of days til she can get into her dorm at the University of Utah. I have stuff to do to get prepared hopefully I will be able to make it to the gym. I am not sure what to expect, am I supposed to entertain her, show her around or what? I am sure she will be exhausted. It's kind of exciting thought.

Stacy - Extraordinary Salad? Do tell.

Ande - I am glad you are starting to feel better. My trainer used to tell me not to workout when I was sick because it takes away from your body trying to heal itself.

RMC - I can relate, I also work from home and it is easier to talk myself out of exercising. Make it a priority. Do it early and get it out of the way.

Shells - Congrats on the new low. 8 pounds will be gone before you know it :-)

Niki - Don't sweat the gain. Now you know what to avoid. I have kisses in my house left over from Christmas. I look at them lovingly and know that I can't have just one LOL. I also try to stay away from diet soda, I am convinced that artificial sweeteners interfere with fat burning. I allow myself one big fresca per week, can't wait til Sunday LOL! :0

Diana - Nice job on getting back to ticker weight. I am contemplating the scale today not sure if I dare yet.

Have a peaceful day everyone.

Let's all keep moving.
