Gaining, I usually put cottage cheese on my salad instead of dressing. I think it tastes better, plus, for 1-3 T of cottage cheese, not many calories by comparison. Just an option.

My ankle ended up swelling so I had to remove the ankle brace. Surprisingly, that alleviated some of the pain and I was able to finish working out.

I ended up working through lunch, but I had a late breakfast. I'm not all that hungry but I'll probably have something so I don't end up starving at dinner and going overboard.

I weighed myself at the gym and it said 157.8. I am so completely down right now. I feel like I'm never going to lose this, regardless of how optimistic I try to be. I'm always going to fail myself.
Great workout girl!! Just stick with it, you'll see that scale move. Just keep up with the nutrition and gym and I know you'll kick @$$!

Lindsey--Oooh, I like that online calculator. For my height and medium body frame, it says I should be between 160-176. It said I'm only 32lbs overweight. I've always thought it was something like 50+! Sweet!
Glad you got the steal the computer! I finally go to do the same! We're so sneaky!

Nice! I like that calculator too! It says I'm 17 pounds overweight...not too shabby!

Gaining, I know of some places who have "salads" that near 1000 calories per serving. I was trying to find out which salad it was, and in my search I came across a meal I would get every time I went to Applebee's: Boneless BBQ wings appetizer with bleu cheese dressing. Just for MY meal. It's 1700+ for one serving. I would eat THAT, and THEN eat french fries!!!! That was once or twice a week for months at one point!!! (hubby's family had given us TONS of gift cards for applebees, then it just became habit) OMG... It's a wonder I didn't gain soooo much more than I have.

Weekend was a total bust. Up 6 lbs since Saturday morning (it's Monday morning now). I discover that I eat even more when in the presence of other people than I do alone. I also had McDonalds for the first time in months and months, drunk, at 3 am. Ugh.

Aww Krampus. Don't let it get you down! I'm going through a rough patch too. I swear, just when I think I've got a handle on it, it just comes around and smacks me in the face! Keep up the good work. You're one of my inspirations! Short girls gotta stick together!!

Ok, I'm really confused. I never crave chocolate. NEEEVER. However, for the past week or so, I've been craving it on and off. Tonight I ate a sensible dinner. I was satiated. Then about an hour after dinner, I had SUCH a bad craving for chocolate. I refused to give in, since I had done SO well all day, and I had worked my butt off at the gym, but finally I had to have SOMEthing or I was going to start binging. I made myself a whole wheat light english muffin (100 calories) with as little nutella as I could possibly put on it. It wasn't even enough to cover it. Anyway, I ate it, and it made me nauseous, which is why I don't like chocolate. But I'm craving it and other sweets, which I totally don't get. I'm NOT preggers, btw. It's driving me NUTS. If I try to totally ignore the cravings, I end up binging. Blech!!! Someone save me!!!

Pint - I hear ya on the cravings! I've been craving PB like it's no one's business. I swear I eat PB everyday...lol...weird!

Linds, that's the thing. I don't even like chocolate. It makes me nauseous. Blech. In fact, my stomach is still rolling from the Nutella. I have no idea why I'm craving it so much.

Pint Great job at the gym!

Shells No! Getting up at 2:30 is not fun! That's awful! I am so glad to hear you are back at your ticker. I hope things start moving for you!

Diana (LA) Did you go fishing today? That sounds fun. I haven't been fishing in forever! Hey, that stuff happens with the calories. I have also seen the premade salads at restaurants log in well over 1000 calories.

Krampus Sorry about the weekend. On the bright side, tomorrow is a new day. Keep trying. You can do this.

Lindsey Hi

Pint - Yeah, that is definitely strange you're craving something that you don't even like and that makes you nauseous!

Diana - Hey! How was your weekend?

Didn't make it fishing today....got home and the boat needed some tune up work. Maybe tomorrow. I LOVE fishing.....LOVE IT!!

I personally think a salad shouldn't be able to be called a salad if it's not healthy for you!! I think it should be against the law.

I'm within my calories, but it's from junk snacking...popcorn and a pkg of crackers for supper. That right there is the supper of champions!!! (NOT!)

Tomorrow's a new day. :sigh:

Diana(LA)--Ugh, I hear you on the salads! I hate ordering salads when I eat out, because they contain so many hidden calories. Instead, I try to stick to a protein w/ vegetables.

Lindsey--I loooooove PB, too! Today, I was craving an incredibly strange thing...beet root! I asked my hubby if it was odd that I was eating boiled beet root for desert and he said "Um....YES!!". Hey, at least it was healthy, right?

Today's Info:

Breakfast: Kellogg's Chocolate Delight (dry), coffee
Snack: 1 oz mixed nuts
Lunch: LC lemon garlic shrimp
Snack: 1 mini heath bar, popcorn
Dinner: 1 1/2 veggie/soy "meat" ball, .25 cup spaghetti sauce, large salad
Desert: Boiled beet root

Calories: 1,246

I've been trying to cut back on some of my carbs. Yesterday, I avoided the rice and just had the stir fry veggies w/ extra veggies and then today, I had the veggie "meat"balls, loaded up on the salad and held off on the pasta. Because of that my calories have been a bit lower, but I've felt fuller? Maybe the carbs are being burned too fast? Who knows! Off to bed I go.

Nighty night, all!

Good Morning, Everyone! I hope you have a great week!

Is it Monday already or is this like that movie Ground Hog Day? The weekends go so fast! The week goes so slow!

Weigh In: 162.8

Down: .6

Has anyone here tried raw sugar snap peas? They are so good! I'm thinking about buying some to keep around for when I get a little hungry. Now I will munch on Romaine lettuce leaves or whatever lettuce/veggie I have around. I think I might add the sugar snaps to my arsenal.

Shells What the heck is beet root? What does it taste like? I totally agree with the vegetables filling you up and staying with you longer.

Lindsey The weekend was nice, but of course it was too short.
