Thank you for coming IN! My name is Debbie and i live on a small island off the NC coast. Im 60 years old and have struggled with my weight since high school. I eat junk, i make excuses, and its beginning to take a toll on my body. I was just told i have type 2 dia.

IM starting my healthy lifestyle of eating today, and i could use some support.

good luck, debbie! what's your plan like? weight loss will definitely help your blood sugar levels stay low (though i'm sure you know that :)) -- my dad's diabetic and he's lost a lot of weight just by keeping track of his carbs. i know you can do it!

everyone here is super awesome and supportive, and they give great advice! i come here daily and it's helped me a lot.

You'll find LOTS of support here, for any kind of plan you're on! How are you planning to eat? We have forums for Calorie Counters, South Beach, etc, so look around!

You might also want to join our 50+ group...great place for support from those in your age range.

There are tons of other areas too, so look around, find a spot or several, and get to posting. I can't wait to get to know you better!

Hello Debbie! I know an AWESOME way for you to start your weightloss having dia...my mother also has dia and she tipped the scales at 300 pounds but she has gotten down to 232. I'm not sure how to private message you but if you need any suggestions feel free to talk to me =) and good luck

BADBBW......of course i wish to hear your thoughts.
Im also new to the boards and have no clue how to private message, but im working on it.


What im doing starting today is useing a food diary, controling my intake, using some liquid protein, NO junk, NO sugar, No white carbs.

My body movement will be more then normal, gosh i would love to hit the gym, but im not sure about that yet. :)
