Hide Me!

Gah- it's three days before christmas and EVERYWHERE I turn there is food!

In MY office area there are bagels, donuts, and strawberries with cream.

In the front office there is a big sliced up cake.

In my coworkers office there are brownies and sugared cranberries.

I'm hiding in my cubical now.

*shakes with fear*

I'm not going to eat any of it!

Ug my boss just gave me a $10 Sees candy gift card- that is DEFINITELY being re-gifted!

I'm struggling too. Work treats piled high. I skipped the company Christmas Dinner last night. There is only so much I can take. I messed up this weekend at my mother's and have been craving all week. My knuckles are WHITE. Maybe that's another kind of "WHITE" Christmas.

That's how I'm feeling- like I'm already struggling to lose and then all these are in the way- I'm starting to NOT like the holidays...

My coworker just gave me a bag of hot chocolate mix goodies. I want to cry lol.

Our office's 23 boarding dogs, just slobbered all over all the food. :D Ewww!

I feel the same way, but it's almost over. Just a few more days. :dizzy:

Tell me about it! Although, I've come to the conclusion that if I don't start, I don't have to stop. So, no eggnog (too hard to give up), no candy (ditto), cookies, away! It is easier to tell myself that I won't have it because I won't have to struggle with the giving up. Makes it easier.

Ugh, I know how you feel. My dad and I are staying with a family friend, and I continue to marvel at the way they eat. They're two skinny little old ladies who eat more sweets than anyone I've ever met, including myself. Every day, they'll each eat two or three donuts, at least one ENORMOUS piece of pie, snack cakes, candy, the works. I actually sometimes find myself staring at what they're eating. Just one snack of theirs would blow my diet for the day. It's torture to watch them cut 1/4 of a pie for themselves as a snack while I'm waiting for my 140-calorie veggie patty to heat up. Congrats for being determined to fight it!

Well it's good for the diet but bad for the soul that if you are sick you get nothing from anyone, no chocolate treats or parties or booze or anything, I've had not a thing so far, not even a card. I can recommend it if you don't want to be given stuff.

I have no friends or job and haven't received anything either! That's one way to avoid temptation :). Then again, I did just have a bite of a chocolate chip cookie that was in the kitchen just a few minutes ago...I knew I shouldn't have opened the bucket to see what was inside. I KNEW it was cookies!

Oh I feel your pain as well!! It's a hard time of year for all of us, that's why we have 3FC to keep us in line!!
I've been confronted with PILES of homemade sweets, cakes and cookies... it's so very hard to not eat any, but if I tell myself "just on is fine", I know that means "a second, third, fourth, oh whatever I already screwed up by having one in the first place" and then stuff my face.
No. I'm drinking water while everybody is having dessert. *sigh*
We'll make it through!
This year won't be a "Oh I'll get back on track Jan 1st" kinda thing, I promised myself that.

Haha - sounds like my office! I work for a candy company, but for some reason, all of our suppliers seem to think we need more :( I didn't do as well as you did, so I'm hoping it'll be mostly gone by the time I get back!

katkitten 12-24-2010 05:08 PM

lol! I was JUST freaking about going into work tonight and dealing with all the temptations....I just switched to night shift and nights at a hospital NORMALLY have lots of cookies, candies, and cakes...I can only IMAGINE how much more will be there tonight. I was just reading your post and about to respond with an affirmation about how I will NOT be bad on my diet tonight when I got a call from work. When the patient census is low on the holidays, they draw names out of the hat to determine who gets to be cancelled (if they want to be). I said YES just so I dont have to deal with it!!! yay for unexpected time off!!!

beerab 12-27-2010 12:35 PM

I gave the candy card away to my brother's gf (who weighs like 90 lbs I kid you not), I gave the hot chocolate to my BIL, and I am proud to say I did not touch ONE piece of cake, candy, NADA from the office. :)

I'm at 203 lbs today but that is fine by me! Overall I've maintained through this crap lol. I did have a bit of an indulgence for Christmas dinner but overall I did so much better than I've ever done :)

Hope you all did well also!

matt_H 12-27-2010 08:47 PM

How has the temptation level's been the past few days?

Remember, the "dark times" are over after January 1st. Just make it to the new year and all of the holiday treats/ food pushers will be long gone. Stay strong :)
