Is it weight loss or is it age?

  • Everything that happens to my body shows up on my FACE.

Ate out at a barbeque restaurant yesterday, the scale went up 3.8 pounds this morning, and all but the .8 settled in my face. My neck was even swollen. My fingers too, but mostly my face.

Ugh. Does anyone else notice this? Once I turned 30 all the late nights and bad choices became much more apparent.

One good thing, some of my wrinkles are plumped out now!
  • That sounds like water retention, mainly salt. I think you may be sensitive to salt.
  • I agree that it's probably water retention.

If I have too much sodium I will wake up with really puffy eyes and cheeks. Even without a noticeable gain on the scale.
  • I guess I never noticed how much sodium was in restaurant food, since I've been carrying my meals everywhere with me for over a year. When I was younger, I would bloat up, but never in my face. My bags under my eyes are sticking out so far I can see them in my peripheral vision.

Water, water, water and the bathroom sure is my friend today!
  • Yip water and salt

The first place I notice salt is in my hands. And the first place I noticed 20lbs loss was in my hands. My ring size dropped to a 7 before my pants dropped at all.
