I think mine's working, but I had quite a blip this morning, from 157.6 up to 159 this morning. I know that doesn't sound like much but it is when you've been stuck at 159/160 for two months and finally thought you were making progress. I still think I am. I have TOM and muscle water-weight retention going on, I have no doubt.

Well yesterday was the first day of weighing and measuring and I ended up eating 1064 calories....quite low I know. I weighed myself this morning and am sure I saw a slight downward movement in the scale (i have a analog scale) so I am going to keep at it and hopefully my weekly weigh in (on Sunday or Monday) will reflect a true decrease. I have my office Christmas party this evening so its a good thing I ate low calories yesterday.

Can you head back to the nutritionist for a check-in since you are in quite a different situation now? He may have some good additional information for you and be able to adjust your plan.

I have a follow up appointment with him this month but to be honest, I am not looking for much from him. He thinks weighing and counting calories to be too technical. He also does not emphasize weight training :?:. The first time he said that to me I wanted to punch him in the mouth!

At the end of November I said I was going to lose another 10 pounds to be 140pounds. Somehow (like I don't know), I am up to 153. Following Dr.Oz's advice, I've been faithfully weighing every day and forgoing any kind of soda pop. These are the things I could stick with. Being aware of every mouthful, not so much. So, I'm digging in too!

Then why are you going back to him? Why not find a new one that you mesh better with?

For validation......to show him that I did it. I did it on my own with strength training and counting calories and without checking in with him every week as he wanted me to........:)

He gave me the right tools to work with of course but I had to build on them.

Slim, you're totally right on about the last 10. I've literally been sitting on mine for a year now. Nice to know I can maintain in a tight range ... but it's definitely time to get back to it. Vive la food scale, and getting off the "BLT" diet (bite/lick/taste) that must be providing exactly those calories that make the difference between staying the same and losing!

Have you checked out the Featherweights Forum ? It is designed for those of us who are trying to lose thse last few pounds. It was a great help to me when I was trying to lose that final ten.

Slim CB 12-13-2010 08:31 AM

Still here....still fighting the fight. I weighed in at 170lbs today which means I have not lost or gained. TOM is here so I am hoping that I will see a big whoosh when it ends.

I am committed!!!!!!!!!

Slim, do check out Featherweights. If you need to rant about a couple 10th's of a pound, and you've achieved the "normal" category, you find a lot of common ground. The final 10 has aggravations all their own and sometimes they are far different struggles from the ones encountered at the start of a new lifestyle. As close as you are, you might want to also have a look over in Maintainer's - there's a thread for 5-10 pounds in December. :)

It's working, it's working! Forgive me all but I plan to use this thread as my accountability thread until I reach to my vanity goal of 158lbs. I usually weigh on a Sunday/Monday but I could not resist it today and guess what I saw 167!!!!!!

9 more to go..........:)

P.S. I will adjust my goal weight on my ticker when I get to my initial goal.

Slim CB 12-19-2010 08:07 PM

I am down another pound! At 166 today! I can't believe it!

8 more to go...........:):)
